Steampunk Clock Card ~ Transforming Ugly Paper by Debi Wind Card Sharks Rubber Roadies Team Designer Our

challenge for March is to take our ugliest cardstock and create a project using it. For my first project I chose to make a Steampunk card using a technique to transform my ugly cardstock into a beautiful background. Editor's Note: This would be a good coloring technique for drab chipboard. Supplies: Steampunk Clock Image (Magenta) Collage Images (Moonlight Journey) Floral Pattern Paper (Graphic 45) Sun Coral Cardstock (Bazzill) Mocha Devine Cardstock (Bazzill) Black Cardstock (Bazzill) Ugly Rustic Grey Cardstock (Unknown) French Vanilla Cardstock (Bazzill) Tim Holtz Steampunk Embossing Folder (Ranger) Autumn Leaves Acrylic Paint (Folk Art) Dark Brown Acrylic Paint (Folk Art) Metallic Champagne Acrylic Paint (Folk Art) Amaretto Truffle Ink (Fresco) Tim Holtz Dried Marigold Distress Ink (Ranger) Tim Holtz Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink (Ranger)

Brass Brads (TPC Studio) Gears and Clock Hand (Tim Holtz) Ink Dabbers (Ranger) Sponge Cuttlebug (Provo) Paper Trimmer (Tonic 12" Paper Cutter) Scissors (Tonic) Scor-it Board (Scor-it) Adhesive (Aleene's Acid Free Tacky Glue) Digital Camera (Olympus) Instructions: 1. Use the ugly Rustic Grey cardstock to create the background by embossing it with Tim Holtz Steampunk Embossing Folder.

2. Using a dauber, the Dark Brown, Autumn Leaves, and Metallic Champagne acrylic paint, dab cardstock randomly with paint. While paint is wet use sponge to blend paint. Add additional paint and blend with sponge until desired background is obtained.

3. Cut Mocha Devine cardstock to the size of 6" x 12". Score and fold in half. Cut Sun Coral cardstock to the size of 5.75" x 5.75". Cut pattern paper to the size of 5.625" x 5.625. Layer pattern paper onto Sun Coral cardstock and both onto Mocha Divine cardstock.

4. Adhere Steampunk embossed cardstock to left half of card at an angle. Add Steampunk collage image to lower right corner. 5. Stamp Steampunk Clock image onto French Vanilla cardstock with Amaretto Truffle ink. Sponge edges with Brushed Corduroy and Dried Marigold distress ink and adhere to Sun Coral and Black cardstock. Adhere image to card.

6. Embellish left lower corner using "Steampunk" label and brads.

7. Adhere gears and clock hand to upper right hand corner.

8. To finish card, adhere French Vanilla cardstock to inside of card and stamp in Amaretto Truffle ink Steampunk gears in lower left hand corner.
