Course Objectives The main objective of this course is to provide students with a managerial oriented approach of how IT is used in organizations. The course also involves the use of microcomputer based application software devices for managerial problem solving. It is hoped that students will be able to recognize, describe, analyze and design the information systems from a business professionals point of view. Course Synopsis This course starts with the introduction to the basic concepts of information technology (IT) and information system (IS) within the context of organization and management. Discussions proceed to the fundamental theory of systems, data, information, information systems and management together with current technology and trends in IT. Students are also exposed to how IS can provide solutions to organizational problems to meet the challenges and changes in the global marketplace of today Class Schedule
