After a semester of familiarizing myself, I could finally get a chance to demonstrate what I have learned into hands-on experience.

I was assigned to teach class M1.4 within a month and a half period of time. Before and while doing the practicum I had confronted with formidable challenges, which I found obstinate to overcome. Yet, from which I did learn fistful of important life experience after the practicum. Thereby, I had to say that this practicum was an unforgettable and mesmerizing experience ever. Quite frankly, I was delighted with the thought of becoming a teacher. For one thing, I knew that being a teacher was never effortless. Therefore, I had dedicated most of my time asking people about their experience and point of views regarding classroom management. For one thing, controlling and instructing the students worried me the most. Among all of the trainees, I was the youngest and this age problem made me feel that no one would ever listen to me. Fortunately, most of my pessimistic expectations came untrue. Though my supervisor and associate lecturer had insufficient time, they could manage to offer me precious comments on my lesson plans. Moreover, they both imparted me to a lot of considerable techniques and suggestions, which brought about dramatic changes to my teaching. Most of my students, on the other hand, were well-behaved, but a bit passive. For instance, they smiled and gave me a very warm welcome on the first day of my introduction. Thankfully, I also had friends who was always at my side and told me that they had faith in my ability keeping me on going toward the accomplishment of all the backbreaking problems. During the practicum period, I had encountered a lot of fierce and fatiguing challenges. One of which was about the classroom management. This student kept on speaking khmer and talked to the other students all the time. What I could do to solve this problem was to monitor the class thoroughly and told him to help his friends because he was also one of the fast learners. Another problem was the gap between students. Among the 33 students, I had noticed that ten of them were very good at English and that they could finish everything before the expected time. Furthermore, what challenged me the most was finding both techniques and extra-materials for my students to work on. For instance, I was expected to find interactive activities as well as interesting materials to stimulate their interests. Due to limited sources of information, I could hardly find suitable techniques and data for my teaching.

No matter how difficult the challenges were, I was able to live up to my expectations. One of them was the achievement of my objectives. In the preparation of my lesson plans, I had devoted most of my time on finding specific objectives to matched with well-linked techniques, and under the attentive supervision of my supervisor and associate lecture, I could manage to build up two interactive lesson plans that made everyone involve enthusiastically. Also, I was able to conduct a rather smooth teaching. Ironically, I had never imagined that I could go this far with such confidence in mind and I could not have gone this far without the cooperation of my students. After my sessions with M1.4, I believed that the practicum had instilled me with priceless life experience and had profoundly shaped several aspects of the way I viewed the life of a teacher. I was surprised that alone, I could manage to control a class of 33 students and assist them well in their studies. Equally important, I have realized that being a teacher was not just about teaching. A teacher had to be good at almost anything including the way he took cognizance of the actual situations. As well, a teacher had to be dependable at all time. Therefore, students with different types of learning strategies could be personally assisted. Having accomplished this practicum, I have changed and become an entirely new person. I have learned to be more patient and adaptable to changes. To me, a month and a half of the practicum period was inadequate because I believed that I could have made big changes in my teaching experience through unwavering commitments and that I could have absorbed more about different people. Not only was this practicum the best test of stamina, but it had also brought me new and meaningful challenges to overcome.
