Wie Sie von co-domains profitieren Die co-Domains sind die Top Level Domain (ccTLD) fr Kolumbien, aber sie sind auch fr viele Firmen interessant, die nichts mit Kolumbien zu tun haben.

Am 13. August 2009 bergab das kolumbianische Ministerium fr Kommunikation die Verw altung der co-domains einer neuen Organisation. Das neue Management wird Co-Domains direkt unter .co einzufhren und mit einer Sun rise-Periode zwischen April und Juni 2010 beginnen. Die Berechtigung an der "sunrise period" der co-domains teilzunehmen, wird auf I nhaber von Marken begrenzt, deren Marken 1), am oder vor dem 30. Juli 2008 regis triert wurden und voll gltig sind, und 2) alle anderen Bedingungen der "sunrise policy" erfllen. Die Antrge werden nicht auf einer "first-come first-served"-Basis bearbeitet, son dern werden gesammelt. Fr den Fall, dass es fr den gleichen Domain-Namen mehrere A ntrge gibt, die alle eine Berechtigung durch eine Marke nachweisen knnen, wird die co-domain versteigert.

Bei den dreistelligen de-domains gab es vor der Satzungsnderung im November Besch rnkungen z.B. konnten de-domains, die mit den Abkrzungen fr Landkreise identisch wa ren, nicht registriert werden. Bei den at-domains gibt es solche Beschrnkungen nicht. Jede at-Domains mit drei Z eichen, die frei ist, kann auch registriert werden. Nic.at erklrt daher: "Die Registrierung von dreistelligen Domains unter .co.at, . or.at und .at ist problemlos mglich." berraschenderweise ist auch das Registrieren von Domains mit ein oder zwei Zeiche n bei manchen at-Domains jetzt schon mglich. "Unter .co.at und .or.at ist die Reg istrierung von 2- und 1stelligen Domains bereits mglich." Bei Nic.at-Registrar Secura knnen brigens bereits jetzt auch die normalen at-Domai ns mit ein oder zwei Buchstaben bzw. Zeichen vorregistriert werden.

Die Sunrise Phase wurde jetzt auf nicht-kyrillische Marken ausgedehnt. Registrierungen mit nichtkyrillischen Marken sind noch bis zum 12. Mai 2010 mglich. Bei einer Internet-Gemeinde von 320 Millionen ist es daher fr vielen westlichen Firmen ntzlich, Ihre Marken in China auch als Keyword zu registrieren.

9.How to profit by co-domains ICANN accredited Registar Secura announces taday, that the company will accept r egistrations of third-level co-domains and pre-registration of second level co-d omains. The co-domains are the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Colomb ia, but every company can profit by such a domain. Around the year 2000 when many country-code domains were being remarketed as wor ldwide generic domains, there was some talk of allowing second-level registratio ns in co-domains for registrants worldwide in order to capitalize on its similar ity to the acronym for the word "company" and as a shortened version of other co untry-codes as noted above. However, the Colombian Council of State prohibited U niversidad de los Andes from doing so, and registration remains limited to third -level domains and to Colombian registrants. On August 13, 2009, via a public procurement process, the Colombian Ministry of Communications conceded the promotion, administration, and technical operation o f the co-domains for a period of 10 years to a new organization. The new management of co-domains will introduce co-domains at the second level a nd start with an Sunrise Period between April and June 2010. Eligibility to participate in the Global Sunrise will be limited to holders of t rademarks that: 1) were registered and were in full force and effect on or befor e July 30, 2008; 2) are registered in a trademark office or registry that corres ponds to a state or entity described in the WIPO Standard ST.3 code; and 3) full y comply with any and all other specified terms and conditions in the co-domains Sunrise Policy. Applications will not be granted on a first-come first-served basis, but rather

will be collected through the final date of Global Sunrise. In the event that th ere is more than one entity applying for the same domain name, with each of them have corresponding trademarks, the name will go to auction.

In order to prevent the type of systemic fraud that occurred during certain prev ious TLD launches, it is utmost importance that all rights claimed by trademark owners during the Sunrise Process go through a strict validation process to ensu re that the trademark owners actually have the rights they claim they have. This includes the need for trademark owners to submit certified documentation suppor ting their intellectual property rights in cases where such rights cannot be val idated by an official online database sponsored by the national trademark office . At the most basic level, in any application for co-domains during the Global Sun rise, applicants will be required to submit certain data to demonstrate that the y qualify in relation to the right(s) related to the domain name applied for. Th e data required will include: * Registered Mark: Exact word or phrase described by the Registered Mark; * Registration Number: Registration or serial number of the Registered Mark?s current registration. * Registration Locality: Location (c ountry/region) where the right is established (using the corresponding WIPO Stan dard code); * Capacity: Whether the Applicant holds the trademark as the origina l ?owner? or as an ?assignee?. Deloitte, as the independent Validation/Verification Agent will verify every app lication. This important additional step in the assignment procedure will make s ure that only rightful owners will receive a co-domainsat the second level. The Validation/Verification Agent is generally tasked to give an opinion on whet her the information contained in an application meets the requirements laid down in the co-domains Sunrise Policy. This opinion will be made based on informatio n contained in the application, as well as other documentary evidence that may b e required in accordance with the Policy. Since February 1st 2010 lu-domains with special characters of Luxemburgish, Fren ch or German are possible. There is a two months sunrise period between February 1st 2010 and March 31st 2010. During this sunrise period exclusively owners of registered lu-domains will be able to secure their ASCII names as equivalent IDN s. But this proje ct of Russia and ICANN is new: the top level domain is also in cyrilic:. It mean s translated .rf or Russian Federation. The domain name may contain only Cyrilli c symbols, numbers and hyphens. The sunrise period has extended to trade marks in non-cyrillic letters. On 15th of June 2010, at 3pm BST, the registry of tel-domains will launch Intern ationalized Domain Names (IDNs) in sixteen languages. If you want tel-domains li ke Jrn.tel, Jlia.tel or Bjrn.tel, or a Chle.tel, or you want to use native script br and names, you will be able to register your own .tel name in your own language from Tuesday, 15th June 2010. Initially, Telnic will make available IDNs in Chin ese, Danish, Finnish, German, Hungarian, Icelandic, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, L ithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish. Further languages will be added in future based on community feedback and availa bility of language tables.
