Understanding clear causes


Standard 1xxx/xx:
Indicates whether the Inmarsat coding scheme or the CCITT recommendation Q.931 coding standard is used.

Location x2xx/xx:
Locates where the event has occurred eg. 5 = LES ACSE

Class xxBx/xx:
Identifies the reason for the clear cause eg. A = Not authorised

Value 12B1/xx:
Nera specific clear causes eg. 12B1/50 = Burst not sent

Information location 1811/00


Standard:
Indicates whether the Inmarsat coding scheme or the CCITT recommendation Q.931 coding standard is used.

Location:
Locates where the event has occurred

Class:
Identifies the category of the cause information

Value:
Uniquely identifies the cause of events with identical Locations and Classes

GPS messages
These meassages are displayed in Vt-Lite "No contact with GPS"
No readings from the internal GPS module

"No GPS position"


Readings from the module but position is not available

"External GPS position in use"


The internal GPS is not providing position so the system is using the (optional) external GPS receiver

Install paid functions and Advanced service level


1. Obtain the appropriate code from Nera SatCom support
Call the support telephone

2. Open the VT-Lite program. 3. Go to Owner level. 4. Go to Menu->Advanced functions->Customize->Paid functions (991) 5. Click OK. 6. Key in the generated code (see above) and click OK. The new functions are now installed.

Upgrade F77 MCU software


If Nera F77 has software 1.0 (from 12.June 2002) or lather versions:
Connect the F77 MCU Terminal RS232Port A to the PC COM port Click on the file: InstalF77_MCU_SW_2_0.bat Follow the instructions on the screen, the MCU should be powered ON before you start!

Remember:
Traffic log needs to be set to Restricted dialing needs to be set to Sim restrictions needs to be set to Access code needs to be set to cleared no restrictions any cleared
