    City Canvases Bridgeport is seeking qualified Artists to produce 30-second digital film shorts for its upcoming projection mapping project. The conceptual theme of this project is the infinite nature of CHANGE. Artists will be selected to produce thirteen shorts for presentation in the project which runs from June 1 to August 30 (thirteen weeks). A different short will be featured each week, culminating in a farewell exhibition at the Bridgeport Arts + Cultural Council. The shorts will be incorporated into a large-scale projection mapping, which will be projected on highly visible building surfaces in Downtown Bridgeport. The mobile projection team will also use the shorts to promote various arts and cultural events throughout Downtown (e.g. Bridgeport Arts Fest, Downtown Thursdays events, gallery, film and theatre openings, etc.). City Canvases Bridgeport is organized by the City of Bridgeport, Downtown Special Services District, Bridgeport Arts + Cultural Council and the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County and supported by the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, Office of the Arts. Shorts shall adhere to following specifications: - Theme: CHANGE (evolution, regeneration, morphology, history, rebirth, expansion and retraction…); - Content: Original works only. No nudity, profanity or hate-based content of any kind; - Format: Open (animation, live action, algorithmic-based, abstract, etc.); - File type: Digital video (.avi, .mov, .mp4, .h264, .wmv); - Length: 30 seconds; and - Audio: None. If audio is incorporated, it may not be presented, due to the outdoor nature of the project

    Completed and signed application (this form) Narrative describing proposal and philosophy behind it (1 page maximum) Proposal mock-ups: illustrations, stills, screenshots, etc. Link to portfolio with examples of past digital short work Short Artist bio/profile

    Selected Artists will be notified on Thursday, April 19. Upon notification, Artists will be introduced to the sites and receive $500 to begin production. The deadline to complete production is Tuesday, May 22. Upon successful completion of the shorts, Artists will receive the second $500 installment of the award.
