BRADY TLS 2200 Portable Printer

This document introduces the portable printer Brady TLS2200 qualities, all which can be done with the better management of its resources. Furthermore, explain the information lines on each label (for UTP cabling, optical jumpers or coaxial cabling). The content could be apply in all the telecommunication networks of any country who wants to have better administration and supervision of the transmission equipment from the telecommunication Network of the country. The printer features is shown above directly from the web page of Brady Corp.

OBJECTIVE
To determine the codification and labeling method on the different cabling used on the equipment that is installed as part of Telecommunication Network of a country.

SCOPE
This document apply in the areas that has the responsibility of installation, operate, maintenance, provisioning, management and supervision of the transmission equipment from the Telecommunication Country Network.

INTRODUCTION
One of the problems that occur during a fault is the identification and physical allocation of the involved systems to do the appropriate testing, which leads to prolonged periods of attention and, in some cases, additional and unnecessary works to allocate the systems. Sometimes the time spent to allocate the system is more than the time spent to fix the fault.

Is important to consider that when a system gives support to the operation indicate to allocate one specific system to perform appropriate tests. The operation team should to identify and locate the system immediately. One important aspect to locate a system corresponds to identify the cabling, both coaxial cable, optical jumpers, UTP cables, (Unshielded Twisted Pair) and power cables.

COAXIAL CABLES
Coaxial cables should be identify and labeling are those that provide transmission facilities and they are installed between a transport equipment and the distributor frame where is connected, as well as each cross-connection and pass-through strings. Each label used for identify coaxial cables is divided in half in vertictal way. The left half is called side A and the right half is called side B.

Encoding On each label are contained eight information fields distributed on sides A and B. See Figure 1. Service Reference: Is the service code hired on the Management System and it gives it to the client to the attention of service. Client Name: Is the client name (or the service name) whose is proportionated the service, next is the client code. Facility Number: Is the facility code of assigned carrier on the Management System Network whose it is provides end to end service to a customer. Via or System: Is the facility code of the output system, e. g. WDM Technology System (identify the optical channel lambda). Direction: Indicates transmission or reception sense that is transport by the cable, used Tx character for Transmission and Rx for Reception sense. AC Position: Is the allocation code of the optical fiber position on the ODF, or the module or the card's port whose is indicate where is connected the labeling cable. ACEX Position: Is the allocation code of the optical fiber position on the ODF, or the module or the card's port whose is indicate where is facing the labeling cable; it is means, the other terminal of the labeling cable. FAC Position: Is the module code location or the cards port that indicate the position to where the last point of connection of the facility that is labeling.

Labeling Features: 1) The labels must be of vinyl material and thermal print type Brady TLS2200-PTL-8-439. 2) Arial size 6 it is should type on these labels, and the letter color must be black. 3) There no label color as a must. Dimensions appear on Figure 2.

OPTICAL JUMPERS
Optical jumpers should be identify and labeling are those that provide transmission facilities and they are installed between a transport equipment and the distributor frame where is connected, as well as each cross-connection and pass-through jumpers. Each label used for identify optical jumpers is divided in half in horizontal way. The upper half is called side A and the lower half is called side B.

Encoding On each label are contained seven information fields distributed on sides A and B. See Figure 4. Service Reference: Is the service code hired on the Management System and it gives it to the client to the attention of service. Client Name: Is the client name (or the service name) whose is proportionated the service, next is the client code. Facility Number: Is the facility code of assigned carrier on the Management System Network whose it is provides end to end service to a customer. Labeling Features: 1) The labels must be of polypropylene and thermal print type Brady TLS2200-PTLFT-01-425. 2) Arial size 5 it is should type on these labels, except the fourth information line, this must be size 4. 3) Letter color must be black and the label color must be white. 4) Dimensions appear on Figure 5.
