INFORMATION HANDOUT 1. Introduction This booklet gives information about the Admission Procedure and Admission Test for the Full Time M.Pharm /M.Pharm +MBA for the academic year 20122013. The details of the programme are given below. Admission for the above mentioned programme is through NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT - P) Candidate can apply online from our website www.nmims.edu .The last date for receipt of application, including postal receipts, is the date given on the Important dates. No form will be accepted after the last date. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria and submit this application form within due date will be called for the test. Eligibility for the programme: Candidate must have passed B.Pharm examination with 55% of marks from any of the recognized university. Industry sponsored candidate would be preferred. You are required to download the call letter from our website www.nmims.edu. No separate call letter will be mailed or posted to the candidates. Candidates appearing for final year B.Pharm can also apply. 2.3 If at any stage, it is found that a candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria or the information furnished by him/ her in the application form is incorrect, his/her application for the admission to the course, even if selected, will stand cancelled. Candidates appearing for the Personal interview for NMAT P, will do so at their own risk of eventually forfeiting their admission for want of meeting the eligibility criteria. Admission Procedure: Admission Test 2012 (100 marks) & Personal Interview (50 marks) The Admission Test and Personal Interview will be conducted only at Mumbai Centre and venue will be communicated to you in your call letter. Structure of the Admission Test a. The admission Test would be an objective type multiple choice test (there will be no descriptive types of questions)

Following are the guidelines for the Personal Interview: a. Duration of the interview: 10 -12 Minutes b. Criteria for assessment: i. Achievement / Career Orientation ii. Professional knowledge and Skills iii. Commitment to the course iv. Learning Orientation/Perseverance v. Soft Skills GPAT Qualified candidates will be given additional weight age of 10 marks, in the final Merit list and required to submit the photocopy of GPAT score on NMAT (P) / personal Interview. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks secured in the entrance examination plus personal interview and additional weight age of GPAT.

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of information provided in the application form, categorized as academic/ professional work experience, marks obtained in the written test and personal interview. 6. Refund Rules The Schedule of refund of fees will be as follows: 1. Till the date of commencement Rs.1000/- will be deducted as of the Programme. administrative charges 2. After the commencement of Rs.1000 + Proportionate fees i.e. one

If the seat remains vacant /unfilled no fees will be refunded. 3. Cancellation after the official closure of admission. Cancellation made after the official closing of admission no fees will be refunded.

Refund of fees will be made in case of 'Withdrawal of Admission'. 'Withdrawal of Admission' means voluntary withdrawal by the candidate for any reason. The fees refund will be as per the norms laid down by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), from time to time. (For current policy refer our website www.nmims.edu). The candidate should submit a written request for cancellation of admission and submit it to Deputy Registrar (Admissions) along with original fee receipt. 7. 8 Regular classes will commence from 2nd July 2012. Changes, if any, would be intimated. Test administration a) Candidates must be present at the test centre (in the appointed class room) at 10.15 a.m. on the scheduled day. The Pre-test proceedings will begin at least 45 minutes prior to the scheduled time for written test. Candidates reporting late will not be permitted to appear for the test. The time has been allotted after taking into consideration the experience of the previous admission test; no additional time will be given to candidate b) Candidates should fill in all the information on Side 1 & 2 (Roll No.) of the answer sheet c) Please remember to write your Roll No. as stated in the call letter on side 1 side 2 of the answer sheet. d) After the time allotted for filling information in the answer sheet, the invigilator will distribute test booklets to the candidates. The candidates will first fill-in the Roll No. on the front cover page of the booklet. e) The booklet should not be opened before a signal to open, given by the invigilator.

f) On opening the booklet, the candidate must first ensure that there is no printing defect anywhere in the booklet. The candidate must also check that the pages of the questions are in order. If not, he/she should draw attention of the invigilator by raising his/her hand and request for replacement of the defective booklet. In such case the candidate should write the serial no. of the second booklet on right hand side margin of the answer sheet. g) In the mean time, the candidate should answer the questions which are in order so that he/she does not need any additional time even if a booklet is found to be defective which itself would be a very rare case. h) Use only HB pencil to write and darken ovals on the answer sheet. Only the ovals properly darkened with an HB pencil are read properly by the computerized machine. i) Please remember to carry a couple of HB pencils duly sharpened, a good eraser, a pencil sharpener and a ball point pen to the examination hall. j) You may also bring with you a silent watch (not one with an alarm) to monitor the time. The test administration staff will, of course, keep the time during the test and indicate the same by a bell. k) Use of other instruments or devices like mobile phone, calculator, wristwatchcum-calculator, watch-alarm or statistical tables, notes, guides, text books etc. will not be allowed during the examination. l) The candidates therefore should not bring such articles to the examination hall. m) Candidates MUST do all the rough /scratch work in the test booklet and not on the answer sheet or any other paper. If any rough work or pencil marks appear on the answer sheet, it may not be evaluated or processed. n) During the test, the candidate should not leave his seat at any time, if at all, he/she has to do so for some reason, he/she should handover his/her test booklet and answer sheet to the invigilator before leaving his/her seat and ensure that the invigilators signature is there on the answer sheet. o) The candidate must follow the instructions in the handout and those given at the time of the test by the test administration staff. Any violation of these may result in cancellation of candidature. 9. How to mark your answer? a. The answer spaces for ALL the questions are on side 2 of the answer sheet. b. Each question comprises of main part-the question and four alternative answers or choices numbered (1),(2),(3) and (4) .You should read the entire question and the choices and only then decide which one of the four given answers is correct or best answer to that question. You should your answer of choice by darkening the oval with number of the answer of your choice.

Example: Q1 Fire is related to Hot in the same way Ice is related to ---------(1) Snow (2) Water (3) Cold (4) Cream In ques.no.1 which is the right or the best answer from the given answers. (1), (2), (3), and (4)? Fire is Hot and Ice is Cold .So (3) is the answer of Q.no.1 c. You have to show your answer of your choice on the answer sheet by darkening the oval with a commonly available HB pencil against the Q.no.like this: 1 2 4

AND NOT LIKE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING

d Darken the oval completely so that the number with the oval is fully covered; but you dont have to be artistic and waste your time. Do not allow the darkening or erasure to spread outside the oval. e. If you want to change your answer, erase the first darkened oval completely with a good eraser and darken the fresh oval of your revised answer. 10. Important points to note: a. Handle the answer sheet carefully. Do not spoil it with dust or dirt on the table/ground or crumple it at any time. b. Do not leave any unintended or stray pencil marks or smudges anywhere on the answer sheet, particularly in or out of the ovals. c. Use a good eraser to cancel or change your first answer, so that it is not read as a partially darkened oval by the computer d. Do not mark or leave two darkened ovals against one question number, otherwise it will be read as a question with more than one mark and will be considered as wrongly answered. e. Return the answer sheet and test booklet at the end of the examination. f. Failure to follow the above instructions may affect your test score.
