Text

A query that was created by the Simple Query Wizard does not appear correctly in the Tables and Related Views view of the Navigation Pane. Access crashes when you delete the last table index on a table that has three or more indexes. Reading of text files and Excel files by using DAO is significantly slower than in previous versions. When two instances of Excel try to use the same Excel data source, the second instance cannot open and update data from the data source.

The Relink Lists command is missing from the ribbon of client database applications. Syncing a large amount of data over a slow network with heavily constrained bandwidth does not work. Access does not activate or return the user to the correct Ribbon tab for a previously opened database object when the user returns to that object. Option groups cause excessive flickering on forms. Access Wizards are not loaded correctly when "Disable all controls without notification" is selected in Trust Center. The program crashes when you move a control out of an option group in layout view. Access crashes when you perform an "undo" operation after you drag a form or a report from Access Navpane to Macro Designer. Opening an ADE file created in the 32-bit vesion of Access in the 64-bit version, or vice versa, results in an error that says "The database cannot be opened because the VBA project contained in it cannot be read. The database can be opened only if the VBA project is first deleted." The error should say that the file must be opened in the same version (32-bit or 64-bit) in which it was created. Access crashes when you try to delete a section of a report or a subreport in design view that is not fully visible (partially scrolled), and the deletion causes the report to scroll up. Fixes a crash that occurs when characters input exceed the limit for the Input Mask property on a control. This affects the property pane and the zoom builder. A crash occurs when the program tries to read a corrupted Excel workbook. The second attempt to export to .xlsx or .xlsb format fails from a table that has more than 65,000 rows. A crash occurs in MBS when you convert or enable a VBA project in an Access 97 database . A crash occurs when you insert a label onto a form and then select the empty text label on the property sheet. When bulk operation queries are executed against a SharePoint list that contains a lookup to a list that has not been fetched, an error message is displayed that states that the query cannot be executed. Subsequently trying to open that list results in an error. After you rename a published table, create a new table that has the same name, and then sync, the new table is deleted. The program crashes when you apply a sort to a query that is based on a multi-value field. Tables that were created from Application Parts or from Access 2007 templates silently lose rows when they are moved to SharePoint if the first text field is null. Kazakh (KK-KZ) is a not included in the language list for the Package Wizard. When you copy and paste macros, some arguments are not correctly localized in non-English languages. Group Policy Object updates cause offline ADO recordsets in Access to display the error message "Data provider could not be initialized". "Reserved error -5500" occurs when you try to run a cross-tab query that would generate null values in the column names of the query. The Data Macro manager on a database that has no macros refers incorrectly to table macros. When you create a form or a report through a wizard, the filter from the source table is not inherited. "Send Object As" appears in English in the Norwegian (NB-NO) version of the program when the user selects "External Data" and then "E-mail" from the Ribbon.

SharePoint surveys with subquestion names that contain other subquestion names as substrings do not get imported into Access or Excel correctly. "Object invalid or no longer set" error occurs when you try to use an ALTER TABLE query to change a field type or size. After a server upgrade, a published Access database crashes when data is updated. Access displays the ID instead of the "Title" (name) of the user when SharePoint list data is imported for a SharePoint Person/Group field that has no "ShowField" set or a "ShowField" that can't be handled, A user interface macro is not saved correctly when a RunMenuCommand argument is changed. Name Fixup can cause a crash when a sublist's master link column is changed when logging is enabled. An unbound control in a bound ADP form that has no default value returns an empty string when it should be returning NULL. You cannot relink tables in Access databases that have linked tables to other MDBs/ACCDBs that cannot be found The file format that is displayed in the title bar for Access 2010 databases is "(Access 2007)." When you run an Append query that you created by using Query Wizard, you receive the error message, "The INSERT INTO statement contains the following unknown field name: '[ColumnName]'. Make sure you have typed the name correctly, and try the operation again." The Access Database Engine does not register a primary interop assembly. ODBC incorrect syntax error occurs when the user tries to export date/time fields to ODBC tables by using the SQL 10 Native Client driver. The program crashes when a fatal query error occurs during data binding. Access crashes when a file is dragged over the Fields List or the Logic Designer. "Refresh All"/F5 does not update data from the server when you are viewing a UNION query or a query that contains NESTED GROUP BY and that is based on a SharePoint list, Access crashes after you create a report from a table that contains many large numeric values. Access stops responding when you use the datasheet view of a table, a query, or a form together with an accessibility client. "Relink Tables" fails in situations in which this command worked in Access 2007. An ODBC connection failed error occurs when you connect to a Sybase database by using a file DSN whose path contains a space. Publishing of client forms that have embedded images from Access is extremely slow. The program crashes when you apply a filter or sort on a form. When the filter menu for a date-time field in a linked table is displayed, Access stops responding. Incorrect results are returned when you apply a today, tomorrow, or yesterday date filter on a date-time field that contains a time part. The correct day will be matched only if there is no time part, or the time part is 00:00:00. When you delete columns from a sublist that is part of a datasheet form and that uses the totals row, a crash occurs. Access 2010 crashes when you click the Union, Data Definition, or SQL PassThrough query type button two times. Incorrect data is displayed when a user's query has a list that includes a combination of GroupBy and either OrderBy or Where

A crash occurs when a filter of the wrong data type is applied to the field. "Invalid precision for decimal data type" or results are truncated when the user runs a crosstab query. Access crashes when you try to convert embedded macros to VBA. Date values are incorrect when you import an Excel workbook that uses the 1904 date system. Not-enough-memory error occurs when the user tries to run an append query. Access crashes when a filter is entered by form mode on a form that has a data bound option group inside of a tab control. You cannot create a package by using the Package Solution Wizard fails if you try to specify an install subfolder for any additional files. Unbound checkboxes, radio buttons, and toggle buttons that have default values and that are set to allow triple state do not work. Spurious data conflict errors reported when a user edits records in a multi-table query. "Invalid field definition 'VER' (field name) in definition of index or relationship" error when the user creates a table that includes constraints in SQL DDL and runs the query, The wrong action is executed when an item is clicked that was added by macro to a customized popup menu. Additional fields in the index are lost when a field is added in the middle of a multi-field index. The user sees the error "The setting for this property is too long" when opening a linked table or a query based on a linked table. Connecting to a SharePoint document library, long URLs appear as empty when opened within Access as linked tables in 2010-compatible cached mode. An "Invalid argument" error message appears when you try to append text file data to a linked table.

Data is formatted incorrectly when conditional formatting rules that are based on standard deviation (specifically below 2 or 3 standard deviation) are applied. Pasting a lot of rows takes a very long time when the row height must be changed. Excel may stop responding when array formulas that are dependent on or are included in a circular reference are calculated. Excel may crash or save an unreadable file if a sheet that contains defined names that refer to a worksheet are copied or moved to a different workbook. When an Excel chart in a PowerPoint presentation is inserted into a new presentation through the "Reuse Slides" feature, the chart does not adopt the theme of the target presentation even if "Keep Source Formatting" option is not selected. When a line chart is based on a named range for which at least one element evaluates to #N/A, the #N/A value appears as 0 on the chart and does not interpolate the #N/A data points as expected. Excel crashes when a table that has styles applied as block-level formatting is copied into another workbook. If an Excel 2003 chart or graph object in PowerPoint 2003 uses the accent colors from the color palette, these colors are converted to black when the file is opened in PowerPoint 2010. Excel crashes when you are using a PivotTable and PivotChart after you perform drill operations, undo multiple operations at once, modify the PivotChart, and then save the file.

Hidden columns become visible when data is copied between worksheets that have different default column widths. Data labels on a chart can be incorrectly hidden when the label has a custom position, and the file is saved as .xls file type. When accessed programmatically, some methods return incorrect results when you have multiple conditional formats on different ranges that intersect. Cells that have center across selection formatting options applied are not correctly redrawn after a calculation. This can create "redraw artifacts" or the appearance of a recalculation problem. Data is formatted incorrectly when you apply conditional formatting rules to a range that includes a nonvolatile function that is followed by a volatile function (such as RAND()), Excel crashes when you select the value field header cell of a PivotTable that has all data filtered out. The order of the legend entries that are displayed in the legend of a stack chart that was created in Excel 2003 is reversed when the chart is opened in Excel 2010 if the legend was modified to have a custom position. Data is not displayed correctly on a chart when you open a workbook that was created in a previous versions of Excel and that has the BIFF3, BIFF4, or BIFF5 file formats, if the chart is based on external data (such as a from a .dat file). When you open a hyperlink that points to an Excel file (.XLSX format file), the file opens in the "restored" state and the window is not maximized. After copying a sheet with an object that has a macro associated with it to another workbook, the macro does not work correctly because it is not correctly pointing at the source workbook. When you import a text file, certain decimal values are not recognized as numeric. A Pivot Table can become corrupted if member properties in the OLAP cube on which the Pivot Table is based are added, modified, or deleted. When multithreaded calculation is disabled, calculation is slow when the total number of formulas in all loaded workbooks is large, and a small subset of those formulas are repeatedly calculated. XMLSS type files do not open if the program is in Protected View mode. When cell editing is disabled and you double-click a cell that contains a reference to a cell in another workbook, the source workbook opens, but the specific cell is not activated, Documents that are saved in the Office 2003 file format that contain pie charts that had data labels outside the pie segments may display the labels inside the pie segments when the document is opened if the labels were edited before the file was saved. A cell that is part of a conditional format range is temporarily not updated to reflect the conditional formatting result when the contents of the cell is deleted. Excel crashes when you are using Remote Desktop and you try to perform a paste or print action, such as Paste As Picture Link. A stacked area chart always fills from the plane that intersects with the zero value on the vertical axis instead of from the X axis crossing point. Excel crashes when you open a file that contains a macro on an embedded object, and the file name contains a square bracket character ("[" or "]"). If custom formatting is applied to data points in a chart or if the "Vary colors by point" setting is enabled for a chart, formatting may be lost when you hide the corresponding series data.

A chart that was based on external data from a .DAT file will be missing from an .xlxs file if that file was an Excel 2003 file (.xls) that was saved in the Excel 2007 file format (.xlxs), moved to another directory, and then opened. If you open a workbook containing a slicer in Excel 2007 and then save it to the XLSB format and then XLSX format, the next time file is opened in Excel 2010 it is reported as corrupted. Excel crashes when you position the pointer over an area chart that has a date axis and a lot of blank cells in the chart data range. In PowerPoint, the size of the Excel OLE chart object changes after you right-click and then open the chart object by using the Open command on the Chart Object menu. A file that has a corrupted chart part is repaired silently. The user is not notified of the problem and prompted to approve the repair. When you have an OLAP PivotTable that contains a hierarchy that has a hidden level and you are trying to create a named set that is based on the other PivotTable axis, the Tuple Definition dialog box displays the wrong fields. Excel crashes when you try to create the named set after you load a workbook that has this kind of PivotTable. The SUMIFS, AVERAGEIFS, and COUNTIFS functions return incorrect results when the function contains two or more criteria ranges that come from at least two different sheets. When you open an Excel file from a network share, the file is not correctly updated by the "Update File" feature from the Quick Access toolbar after another user has edited the file. Certain array-entered formulas that reference ranges by using formulas that reference operations or worksheet functions that have not been fully calculated. The allocated strings (such as IF, CONCATENATE, or the "&" operator) may not calculate after certain operations, such as changing support cells, are performed. If a named set that is based on measures hierarchy and for which at least one of the measures does not have data in a default context is placed on a PivotTable axis, the measure that lacks data is not displayed. If none of the measures have data, Excel might crash. Excel stops responding or displays unpredictable behavior, such as incomplete calculations, when a workbook that has array formulas that contain VLOOKUP, LOOKUP, or HLOOKUP functions is calculated. Blank dates in "2-D" and "3-D" area and line charts that have a date axis are not correctly ignored and are instead plotted as zero values. You cannot install the Arabic - Saudi Arabia, Hebrew, Hindi, or Thai version of the Analysis Tool Pack add-in for Excel. Surface charts (both wireframe and solid) are not drawn properly from certain data sets. The camera tool and the "paste as picture" link are not resized when the cell range changes size in the linked worksheet. When there are merged cells in Excel, the wrong cell range from a different worksheet may be shown. A crash occurs when you open a workbook in Protected View but then cancel while the file is being opened. When opening a file with the same name from multiple locations, Excel goes into a state in which the program cannot be closed. Users cannot load certain previously saved Excel OLE objects in Excel 2010. You open a workbook that has surface charts in Protected View. When you immediately try to edit the workbook, the program crashes. A crash occurs when you open an Excel file that has surface charts in Protected View.

SP1 introduces a new checkbox, "Excel Toolbars Files" in the File Block Settings tab of the Trust Center, to allow a user/corporation to prevent users from opening Excel Toolbars (.xlb) files in Excel because of security concerns. Checking it sets a new registry key, XlbFiles, which blocks Excel Toolbars (.xlb) files from being opened.

When the Windows 7 locale for Serbian or for Scottish Gaelic is set as the default editing language, some functions do not work, such as Insert Chart or Insert Date. Office Language Interface Pack (LIP) contains unlocalized content and incorrect language property data for Dari. In the Portuguese version, Serbian (both Cyrillic and Latin) is incorrectly translated as Cyrillic. The Basque version has the wrong percentage sign format. The Ukrainian version shows incorrectly translated calendar names. "Afrikaans" is misspelled in the Polish Microsoft Office 2010 Language Preferences dialog box. There is character corruption in the name of Ketchua (should be Ketua) in the Estonian version. In the Finnish version, "Serbia" is misspelled in the Language Options. The decimal point and the thousands separator do not change to match native "Hindi" formats in Microsoft Office 2010. Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Oman have updated their working week. Office does not display the working week in the new style. The Kazakh calendar is missing the "Capital City Day" holiday. Dates for "Easter Monday" and the Spring Bank holiday/Queen's Jubilee celebration are not correct. Presence information is lost in Microsoft Office applications after the system resumes from sleep/hibernation while Microsoft Lync 2010 or Microsoft Communicator 2007 R2 (with cumulative update 4 or later) is running. Use of the term "conference" is ambiguous in the user interface. A crash occurs when certain third-party spell checkers are used. A program crash occurs in a "compounding" language such as Dutch or German when you use the change once button for certain words. Spell checking does not work when the user installs a third-party spell checker that overrides the Microsoft spell checker. Custom templates are not displayed in alphabetical order in the File/New dialog box. A crash may occur when you use the Compact command on the Tools menu in Microsoft Clip Organizer. When you open a training practice session from Office.com, the practice notes open in the default web browser instead in of the Help Viewer. When a language pack that lacks Help is installed, opening Help will cause an installer window to open. You receive a "page is not available" message when you try to download a template or a training course practice document from Office.com. Ungrouping a shaperange through VBA does not return ActiveX objects. After this fix, ActiveX objects can be included as selected objects. The Compress Pictures button does not compress 8-bit paletted TIFF-format images.

The default option for pasting a picture is "as shown on screen," but it should be "as shown when printed." Microsoft Office programs do not render some metafile images in HTML or binary documents. When files are saved in the Open Document Format for Office Applications (ODF), linked images are not saved correctly. When the file is opened, the link is broken. Lines and connector shapes in graphical diagrams in Word and PowerPoint documents are printed too thick. This occurs when the lines or the connectors have a line end property (such as an arrow), and the line width is less than 1.0 pt. Performance is reduced when managed Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO) add-ins are loading. Users with 64-bit Office 2010 may experience performance issues when executing compute-intensive VBA solutions that only interact minimally with the Office object model. The service pack provides an update to the 64-bit VBA runtime to address these performance issues. Prior to SP1, there was no support for .NET 4.0 solutions. When an RMS-protected document with an expiration date is opened, the user receives an unhelpful "an unexpected error has occurred" message if the expiration date is past. When you use the Insert Object feature to embed a large Excel workbook into PowerPoint 2010, the operation takes a long time. Before SP1, when the user tried to sign a document but did not insert a smart card and no certificates were available, the user was given the option to create a self-signed certificate. Starting with SP1, the system administrator can set a SuppressNoCertDialog REG_DWORD value to control access to Office Marketplace or self-signed certificates. In a configuration in which timestamp failure is not fatal, the user asks for a timestamp on a signature. If the timestamp fails, the user is not notified. When the user's signature expires, the signature is bad. Starting with SP1, Office will not apply an unusable timestamp and will instead report an error. When you starting an Office 2010 program for the first time and you select "Enable automatic system updates," the program crashes. Before SP1, if a SignatureProvider plug-in that is set to UI-only requests a hashing algorithm other than sha1, the algorithms will fail. Starting with SP1, all supported signature hashing algorithms work with SignatureProvider plug-ins. Office 2010 cannot open ISO Strict files. SP1 enables Office to open Strict Open XML Presentations, Strict Open XML Documents, and Strict Open XML Workbooks that use the new namespaces added to the standard after the release of Office 2010. Folder names are not visible in the File Open dialog box when the Black color scheme is used on Windows XP. You save a file that contains hyperlinks to different UNC or DFS shares which have a common parent. The hyperlinks are converted to relative paths when the files is saved, which breaks the links. In Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, a document is not recognized as checked out to "me" when the user name is longer than 64 characters. Internet Explorer 9 flags Office Document Cache Handler as a slow add-on.

In the Arabic language version of OneNote, the File tab shortcut key conflicts with the Share shortcut key in the Backstage. When you view search results, OneNote does not scroll the page to the first search "hit." Pages are reordered when new content is added to a shared notebook. Various problems may occur for shared notebooks that have many users: local changes get moved to Misplaced Sections instead of being saved on the server, the read/unread state gets mistakenly cleared, files are repeatedly downloaded, table of contents files grow continuously, server load becomes very high, and sections or section groups are duplicated. Text formatting problems occur after you paste text that you copied from a website. It is too difficult to share and open notebooks on Windows Live SkyDrive or to get unfiled notes onto SkyDrive. SP1 provides user interface and functionality improvements to make these tasks much easier. Printed images are lost when a page in OneNote 2010-format page is saved in OneNote 2007 format. Unnecessary background syncing when users are inactive causes unnecessary load on SharePoint and SkyDrive servers. Ink shifts when you press the Down Arrow key. Folders that lack a .onetoc file open as a notebook. After the fix, OneNote will no longer open a folder as a notebook unless that folder is already a notebook. This change prevents OneNote from creating unwanted .onetoc2 files throughout a folder structure. Search results are not scrolled to the hit, so they are not easily seen. OneNote users experience SkyDrive connection problems. Content cannot be marked as "read" and continues to be designated as unread. Embedded image placement fails, but no error message is generated. Therefore, Notebook appears to be synced, but the image is missing when the file is reopened. XML that includes XPS images that was exported through the OneNote API is invalid and cannot be reimported through the API. Note tag customizations are not always saved. When two users on different computers type in the same empty paragraph at about the same time, a merge conflict occurs. After the SP1 fix, each user's input becomes a separate paragraph. When you search on multiple pages of printouts, hit results are only highlighted on the first page of the printout. It is difficult to move Unfiled Notes sections to Windows Live SkyDrive. A crash might occur if a second OneNote window is closed while content is being moved in the original OneNote window. Ink moves or disappears from shared notebooks, usually when more than one user is editing ink or text on the same page. Content is duplicated when it is pasted after being selected by using the lasso tool. Inks shifts on a page when you insert an image. It isn't possible for administrators to control the creation of "Personal" notebooks on Windows Live SkyDrive. Starting with SP1, a registry key will allow administrators to control this feature. Depending on window sizing, all notebooks are not displayed in the navigation bar. Performance is slow when you use a template to create a new page. When a page is saved as a .docx file, the images are not saved to the Word document. Fixes up duplicate ink shifting issues.

Newly created notebook shows "unread" content where none should exist. When a notebook is named with certain characters (or contains sections or section groups that use these characters) that are not allowed on Windows Live SkyDrive and that notebook is saved to SkyDrive, the sections are not synced, and an error occurs. After the fix, the sections are automatically renamed without the disallowed characters. OneNote does not support the Rupee symbol in plain text.

Quick Contacts appears empty in the To Do pane when the system wakes up from sleep/hibernation and Microsoft Lync 2010 is running. When Outlook opens an e-mail message that contains pictures, the program tries to write files that have a .com file name extension to the Temporary Internet Files folder. This causes some anti-virus programs to mistakenly report that Outlook is trying to create an executable file. Message tracking and read reciept features do not work in some configurations. With Turkish regional settings, when you press "i", Outlook (online) grouped view either stops responding or jumps to the first entry with "J." When you decline a meeting invitation but then click Cancel in the "Would you like to send a response to the organizer of this meeting?" dialog box, the meeting may not be recorded properly on the calendar. When you open an email message (or view a message in the preview pane), and then you access the Autocorrect options dialog box, CPU usage spikes while the dialog box remains. When you are trying to forward a meeting, the keyboard shortcut Alt+S does not work. On Windows Vista or Windows Server 2003, Search index is disabled when it encounters a message attachment that has a very long name. You cannot create new items in a SharePoint Calendar that is synchronized in Outlook. Performance is reduced in the Remote Desktop environment. A memory leak occurs when you use in-cell editing to edit properties. When there are two attachments to an RTF message, the wrong attachment is opened. Problems occur with AutoDiscover, Authentication, and Cross-Premise Delegation against Hosted Services. After the fix is applied, support is also added for "Nego2" Authentication. Outlook cannot connect when you transition from RPC/TCP to RPC/HTTP. NTLM passwords are not remembered for Outlook Anywhere on a computer that is not joined to a domain. Outlook does not use the context of the default sending account when creating new items. Outlook cannot be shut down. After an upgrade, Outlook is no longer the default email client. EmailScanner add-in causes Outlook 2010 to crash. The add-in is disabled by default after SP1. The Nuance PDF Converter add-in causes Outlook 2010 to crash. Versions 1.x through 6.x of this add-in have been disabled in SP1. An update for the add-in is available from Nuance. Chinese characters appear in the title bar, and cached Exchange delivery is broken after a mailbox is moved. Memory problems cause search indexing to stop and not resume. The Retention Policy of a folder is not displayed in "Use Folder Policy" when you apply the folder policy to an item. A crash occurs after a call to ConfigureMsgService.

Outlook does not sync in a timely manner after a laptop resumes from sleep/hibernate mode. Attachments to RTF email that were decrypted (after being encrypted through RMS) lose their position information and are lost. Programmatically applied IRM templates are not displayed correctly. The last snooze time is used as the default for a different appointment. The email attachment limit can be exceeded. After the upgrade, the problem is fixed, and the limit is increased by a factor of 6. The Quota Thermometer is not displayed for Online Archive stores. The mail preview is still displayed after the last item is moved out of the Inbox. Outlook crashes if an IRM message is received when IRM is disabled. Time zone details are inaccurate after an upgrade from Outlook 2007. Inadvertently loading recipient information on read-only items caused the program to stop responding. Incorrect abbreviations are used in certain languages in the Find a Room feature. Screen reader tools cannot differentiate between a single message and a conversation. You cannot reply to a meeting from a POP account if the language is set to Turkish. An error occurs when you decline a meeting through the OM. Outlook stops responding while printing. When you print an email message that has embedded images and another attachment, some images are printed twice. The program crashes if you have "Internet free/busy" set up, and you click "refresh free/busy" in the meeting inspector on the Scheduling Assistant tab. Retention policies set up on different computers cause a sync conflict. Message size limits are not enforced for Simple MAPI messages. When you configure an account by using the Office 2010 Customization Tool (OCT), you select to overwrite an existing account, but an additional account is created instead. "Default reminder time" cannot be set to more than one day. When using POP and IMAP accounts, when you have a rule that uses a template to reply to a message, no reply is sent. The unsent message dialog box is not displayed when you close Outlook while there are message in the Outbox for POP or IMAP accounts. Tasks are duplicated in the To Do bar. You cannot join an online meeting if the meeting is made private or public after the reminder for the meeting has appeared. Outlook crashes when you "reply all" to a message that has no recipients. Messages get stuck in the Outbox. The subjects and the locations of appointments are truncated in month view. When the "Sent To: Me or CC: Me" command in the Search Tools Ribbon tab is used together with another query term, the results are incorrect. You cannot sync mail or perform other actions that require information from more than one folder at a time on your IMAP server. IMAP users cannot open email messages from a desktop "new mail" notification. Tracking information is printed on the second page after the PrintTrackingPref regkey is set. You cannot add attachments though the OM if you do not have an Exchange account.

When you are search for "items expiring soon," the results are incorrect in some language versions. The end times of appointments are not printed when you print the calendar in the "monthly" style. Email to contacts who are synched from a SharePoint list is sent in Rich Text Format. When you receive a signed message and try to add the sender to your contacts so that you have their ecnryption certificate, the certificate is not added. Outlook stops responding when you perform a search. Calendar items in Public Folders cannot be marked as read by using the shortcut keys. Outlook does not work with IPv6 and IPv4 combined environments and POP/IMAP/SMTP. Some reminders are not removed when you try to "Dismiss all" reminders. Outlook stops responding after you modify Automatic Replies (Out of Office). NTLM authentication against POP and IMAP servers does not work when SSL is not used. Sharing messages to internal users does not work in certain circumstances. Daylight saving time setting is not correctly adjusted when you change time zones. Automatic name completion stops working. During startup, Outlook stops responding as it tries to access the address book. "All Address Lists" container always returns 0 child folders through MAPI. The New Message Quick Step does not allow access to the Outlook Contacts list for non-Exchange accounts. Buttons on the Ribbon become unavailable after the background of an image is removed. An item is lost when that item is moved to a folder that is in a different store. Exceptions to a recurring series revert after a change is made to the meeting organizer's calendar. Non-Outlook users cannot open encrypted messages sent from Outlook. Attachments are not removed from the temporary folder at shutdown. Attached S/MIME messages cannot be opened. Add-ins cannot activate Ribbon tabs.

You cannot create a new link after a link was previously created by using the default name. Performance lags when you use tabular data sources in Dashboard Designer. When you click a cell in a scorecard in Dashboard Designer, the font size for that cell is increased. Long dimension names are not displayed correctly in drop-down lists.

The aspect ratio changes for CGM images that are inserted in PowerPoint. If PowerPoint is started by opening a file that contains 3-D content, the program might stop responding. When you try to open certain files that contain OLE objects, a file repair dialog box opens. After you turn on inking to annotate slides in PowerPoint, the pen cursor reverts to a pointer during every animation and transition, and inking capabilities are not automatically restored. When you export slides into pictures, certain sizes of slides have black borders at the right side and at the bottom.

The program cannot repair and open some files that PowerPoint 2003 and PowerPoint 2007 could repair and open.

When the "Use Presenter View" option on the Slide Show tab is turned on, Presenter View is displayed by default on the secondary monitor instead of the primary monitor. Therefore, private information may be displayed by projector to the audience. After this fix, "Use Presenter View" changes the slide show display screen to the next available monitor instead of the primary monitor. Then, Presenter View is displayed on the presenter's primary control screen (for instance, a laptop monitor) instead of being projected to the audience. PowerPoint slideshows that were created in PowerPoint for Mac and that are set to play "on click" (the default setting), do not play at the first click. When you use grayscale printing, border color settings are not honored. White table borders are printed as black. SP1 adds the ability to control this behavior using a registry key setting. When your printer has a high default resolution setting (such as 2,400 dots per inch) and you save a slide as a metafile or as an enhanced metafile (EMF), the saved file is very large. SP1 added a registry key that lets you override what printer is used when a metafile is saved, so that you can generate a more compact metafile. You insert an Excel embedded object that contains VBA code (macros) into a PowerPoint presentation. When you save and then re-open the presentation, the macros cannot be enabled. When you use the "Package for CD" Save and Send command, descriptive text is displayed that mistakenly states that the package will include the Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer to play the presentation. When you are using multiple monitors, if you have the PowerPoint editing window open on one monitor and you start the slide show on the other monitor, the mouse pointer disappears when it is moved over the editor. The pointer does not reappear until it is is moved over the slide show view. When you programmatically export a PowerPoint slide as a bitmap, black lines appear on the exported image. When checking out a PowerPoint presentation from a SharePoint document library and sending the presentation as an e-mail attachment, the options to "Check In" and "Discard Check Out" are removed from the Office button Server flyout. You move to the end of a deck that has more than six slides, and then you move back slide by slide to the beginning. In this scenario, some slides (before the last six) will be stuck in the animation end state and will not play from the beginning of the animation. When a co-authored presentation is merged, inconsistencies in the way text is auto-fit can cause some text to become unreadable. When you use PowerPoint 2010 object model to automate formatting, an incorrect Runs.Count value is returned. All text disappears from a multi-column text box when you add text to the first column.

Project is very slow to respond when you sychronize with a SharePoint Tasks list.

Changes that you make to the Print Properties dialog settings do not take effect when you print the document. When you add a task to the timeline and then cut that task and paste it in another location on the timeline, the task will no longer appear on the timeline. The only way to get it to appear on the timeline is to re-open the project plan. Task information is not imported correctly from a tab-delimited file to a project file on the server. After you set up a new baseline, the "Baseline Work" and "Work" values do not match. Saving a file in the Project 2007 format can corrupt the file. When you remove leveling, pinned tasks that have actuals are moved. When Project checks to see whether an assignment is over allocated, the program incorrectly checks whether the resource is over allocated at any time during the span of the task. Because of this behavior, assignments may be falsely flagged as over allocated. After SP1, Project instead correctly checks to see whether the resource is over allocated at any time when there is work on the assignment. Find and replace does not work for some Romanian characters. Manually scheduled tasks cannot be edited in the time-phased grid. The date format for the Traditional Chinese version of Project is incorrect. You are editing a project plan that is stored on a remote computer when the remote computer becomes disconnected. You are prompted to save the file locally, and you click OK. If you cancel the save process, any future saves will cause a crash. When you have more than one project open and connected to the server and you save a baselines in one of the plans, the timephased baseline data in the other plan is changed. You cannot add an Active Directory resource to a project by using the Project Standard client. Data corruption occurs for custom number fields. When you format a project plan (for example, to change the font or to add cell formatting) and you apply one format, another format is sometimes removed. The "Show Critical Path" ribbon check box does not work in the Korean version. The "Merge XML" feature does not allow you to merge custom fields data into an active project plan. Project does not refresh earned values (such as BCWS) when you click F9. When a user makes an edit to a task in a project, another task's free slack property should change, but the change does not appear in the user interface next full recalculation. The Project client crashes when you try to lasso items in Team Planner view. The lag parameter for a task does not accept values. When you add a custom field that includes a hierarchical lookup table to a Visual Report, only the lookup table values that are actually being used in the project plan appear in the report. Scheduled tasks can not be synced between Project client and a SharePoint task list. When you change the column width or the row height, applied formatting is lost. "Existing Tasks" is missing from the Timeline shortcut menu. User-defined filter questions do not work on custom fields that have lookup tables. After the trial period for Project 2010 expires, users cannot save projects as version Project 2007 files. A crash occurs when you insert a sub project into the master project, copy or cut one of the tasks from the master project, and then try to paste the task into the sub project. Text fields are not visible for a project that is saved in Project 2007 format in Project 2010 and then opened in Project 2007.

When you save a project to an external format, such as Excel, CVS or TXT, task GUID is not listed as an available "From: Microsoft Project Field" field. When the Team Planner view is opened, Project stops responding. The GetServerProjectGuid method does not return a complete list of the GUIDs for all the projects on the server. When you try to print or preview a custom report, the preview shows the current view instead of the report that you created.

Publisher crashes when it tries to open a Microsoft Works file.

When you create a Business Data Catalog (BDC) project in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010, the default templates in Visual Studio create methods that cannot be re-edited in Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2010. An incorrect error is displayed: "The method that your operation is based on has parameters with complex types that do not have default parameterless constructor. This kind of data source methods cannot be used in Business Data Connectivity Metadata Store." When a domain user clicks "Open this task" on an Outlook email notification and thereby tries to access a workflow server that is set up to use basic authentication, the user receives the error message, "An error occurred while retrieving the workflow task details. This could be caused by not having connectivity to the server or because the task no longer exists."

The SharePoint Workspace document download limit is confusing and overly restrictive. The warning and recommended maximum limits are too low, at 500 and 1,800 files respectively. The service pack improves the file limit user interface and increases the limits.

"Find" using Greek sigma characters does not function as expected. When a diagram that contains multiple shapes and connectors is copied and pasted as a rasterized image, the resulting image displays connectors that are rerouted and do not match the original. This can occur when you use Paste Special to "paste as picture" or when you paste from Visio to another Office program, such as PowerPoint or Word.

Word crashes when you try to open HTML files. If you use the yellow "adjust" handles to change the geometry of a shape that is inside a chart in Word, the entire chart is resized. When you try to flip a child shape inside a Word Group by using the Word object model, the entire group is flipped. If you querying the property "FlipHorizontal/FlipVertical," the correct value is not returned. The ScaleHeight and ScaleWidth commands that use the Word object model for scaling the height or the width of child shapes in a Word Group scale all the shapes in the group and not just the desired range of shapes. Word crashes when opening WordPerfect documents. You create a PDF/A document in Word, and the document is found to be not-valid by several validators, including Adobe Acrobat. SharePoint does not retain a "When I closed without saving" version after a user closes the file without saving it.

Korean characters are not found when you search in a PDF document. The program marks footnotes as deleted and reinserted if the character before the footnote reference mark was changed. When you save a file in the DocsOpen (ODMA) environment, the files are always saved in Word 2007 OpenXML (.docx) format, instead of the default preferred format. When you use Full-Pitch Space, gaps appear between the lines. Also, in the Japanese version, indents are not updated correctly when you uses character units such space or backspace. When you open Word 2003 documents, lists in the documents are displayed without the correct numbering or bullet characters. When you load RTF items (email or calendar item) that were created in Outlook 2007 or in Outlook 2010, memory leaks. If you cycle through many RTF items over time, the memory usage becomes noticeable. When you scroll or resize a window that contains a table, the program crashes. You have an embedded object in a Word file. You insert a link to content inside that embedded object. After you save, close, and then reopen the file in Word, the link is broken and you receive the error message "The object is corrupt or is no longer available". When you save a document that has a bookmark in a content control in a table cell, the bookmark is lost. When you paste HTML code in a .docx format document (or in an Outlook 2007 message), the hyperlinks as defined by <MAP> tags are missing. Text in a document appears unreadable when it is selected by using a screen reader. You copy and paste a Word table as a picture. When you print the file that contains the picture, the resolution of the picture is diminished. When you convert a file by using Wordconv.exe, list items are not numbered correctly. Certain calculated fields cause a document's signature to be invalidated after you print the file. When you open an HTML file that incudes a table that has a caption and a picture that includes an area map, Word crashes. Opening a Word 2003 document with custom styles, and using "Update Field" on the Table of Contents may change indents in the Table of Contents. The Document::Name or Document::FullName that is passed to the Application::DocumentBeforeClose event is incorrect after you use the "Compare and Merge" feature and then save and close the document. When you insert text from a file and the file contains an inline shape picture, a grouped picture, or a picture on a drawing canvas, the image is not inserted as expected. Tables are not compared correctly after rows or columns are changed, added, or deleted. Indentation is wrong after you copy a combination of list styles and paragraph styles from an exiting style to a template. You create documents that include custom XML tags, and you run the spelling checker. Where manual changes to misspelled words are enclosed in custom XML in the spelling check window, letters are removed from words when you accept a manual spelling change. A crash occurs when you use the Helvetica printer font. When you use the Word converter to save a .doc file to .docx format, Track Changes will incorrectly report that changes have been made to numbered lists. Numbered outline list items that contains a style separator or a hidden paragraph mark are not displayed in the cross-reference dialog box.

Word cannot distinguish between Auto Recover Save and "Manual Save" in the DocumentBeforeSave event. Word cannot open certain ODT files that have footnote references in text boxes. Word cannot open certain ODT files that are missing master-page styles. Many style operations in Word 2010 consume memory that is not released unless the document is closed or the undo buffer is cleared. The state of Ignore and Ignore All spelling check functions do not persist when a document that is not based on Normal.dotm is saved, closed, and reopened. Auto-run macros in a document on a SharePoint site do not run when you open the document through a link in Internet Explorer. Documents are printed incorrectly when the "Print in background" option is disabled. Word and Outlook respond slowly when the system resumes from hibernation. Double "smart quotes" do not have the correct format in Norwegian text. When you delete a range of text that includes a paragraph mark when Track Changes is turned on, an extra paragraph mark is inserted. UNC names that include ideographic commas do not display as hyperlinks. An error that says "A table in this document has become corrupted" occurs after you reject a change to nested tables. Bold text is not rendered for certain fonts. You have a document that contains a pasted link. After you turn on Track Changes in the document, a copy of the pasted link is added to the document every time that you update the pasted link. Additionally, the links become broken. When the result of a comparison between two documents is saved, style changes are incorrectly reported. When you receive a plain text e-mail message that contains a URL, and the body of the e-mail contains the word "From:" at the start of the line above the URL, the URL is not displayed as a hyperlink. In some cases, when Track Changes is enabled, the same behavior occurs when you reject a deletion change as when you accept a deletion change. When you print "n-up," the printer's default page size used instead of the document's page size. Fonts that have PostScript outlines are rendered incorrectly when the file is opened in landscape orientation. The NUMPAGES field does not work when you print in the foreground. You cannot input Japanese characters correctly in a page footer. The APA and MLA bibliography styles are out of date. SP1 adds the APA Sixth Edition and MLA Seventh Edition bibliography styles. When a document contains several sections and some of these are protected for form input, a section break between an unprotected section and a protected section can be deleted if the section break is located immediately after a table in the unprotected section.
