We are required to perform Shraadha karmas (pithru karma) after the demise of Father. Failure to perform the enshrined duties will earn the wrath of Pithrus and ultimately cursed by them. "Pithru tharpanam" means "to satisfy pithrus". Here Pithrus are those passed away and referred to as "Pithru Vargam", Mathamaha Vargam" respectively. Should anyone want peace, wealth and good health for seven generations - they should perform pithru karmas without interruption. Failing to execute these karmas or performing without much interest but as a routine, will not keep the Pithrus happy. Therefore, we request everyone to do it according to laid down procedures and Shradhaa.
