Definition of Reproduction Reproduction is an act or process of reproducing; specifically it is the process by which plants and animals give rise

to offspring.

The Importance of Reproduction Reproduction is important for the survival of all living things. It is essential to the continued survival of a species over time. Without a mechanism for reproduction, life would come to an end. Reproduction is one of an important characteristic that distinguishes a living thing from a non-living thing.

Method of Reproduction For Human

Human reproduce is by giving birth. In the human reproductive process, two kinds of sex cells are involved. The male cell, or sperm, and the female cell, the egg or ovum, meet in the female's reproductive system to create a new individual. Both the male and female reproductive systems are essential for reproduction. Human babies develop within their mother for nine months before they are born. They grow into children, adolescents, and eventually, adults.

Life Cycle of a Human The beginning of life marks the first point in the life cycle of a living thing. All living things undergo their own life cycles where they are either hatched from eggs or born alive, grow, reproduce and eventually die. A life cycle of a living thing also shows the different stages of development.

The human life cycle consists of 4 stages: birth, growth, adult and elderly. When you are born as a baby you are in your first stage of the life cycle. You grow into a toddler, young child and then a teenager. When you are older, and stop growing, you become an adult and can have children of your own. As you continue to get older, you may become a grandparent. Eventually all mammals die. As new babies are born, the life cycle begins again.

Method of Reproduction For Animal Animals reproduce in two different ways; Some animals such as grasshopper undergo 3-stage life cycles. Life Cycle of a Grasshopper

1. A female grasshopper lays fertilised eggs in soil. 2. The eggs are contained in pod like structure. 3. About 20 to 120 eggs are laid by the female grasshopper each time. 4. The eggs will hatch into nymphs. 5. The nymph of a grasshopper resembles its parent except that it is smaller in size and does not have wings. 6. A nymphs of a grasshopper also moults several times as it grow until it becomes an adult grasshopper.

During this period of time, it becomes bigger and its wings start to grow. 7. The female grasshopper then lays eggs and another life cycle begins.

Countries Which Are Over-Populated

Challenges / Problems Faced When The World Is Overpopulated Prices of gasoline are high because the demand has exceeded the natural resources. Prices of fish are high because 90% of the big fish are gone. The earth is polluted with plastics, in part because of shortage of natural materials. Rivers and bays are polluted because of high level of population and industrialization. Wild animals are disappearing because of over-hunting and environmental destruction. Natural flora is being wiped out to make place for cash crops to feed the hungry humans. Cost of living is very high because of short supply of food, energy, and shelter. Automobile traffic is slow and causes air pollution because of too many cars and people. Countries go to war for natural resources and living space because of too many people.
