Size: Womens Large (Finished Measurements: 8 /21.5 cm from cuff to tip, 8/20 cm circumference above thumb gusset) GAUGE: 16 sts over 2/5 cm on Chart A To save time, take time to check gauge.

CORRUGATED RIB CUFF: NOTE: I always switch colors on my corrugated ribbing on the knit stitches so I dont have to worry about two-color purl stitches at each color change. I am a two-handed knitter so to do corrugated ribbing I hold the yarn to be knit in my left hand and knit continental and the yarn to be purled in my right hand and purl English/American.

Tea Tree Mitts Chart A On row 10 of Chart A, k 32 in pattern, PM, M1 in CC3, PM, k to end of row in pattern - 64 sts. The stitch between the SMs is the beginning of the thumb gusset stitches as seen in row 1 - Chart B Thumb Gusset below. Starting on Row 11 of Chart A Continue to work Chart A and AT THE SAME TIME work Chart B between the markers starting on row 2. Make sure you increase the stitch in the strand of yarn from the previous stitch, not from one of the floats.

Chart B Thumb Gusset (Black squares mean no stitches) Continue working both charts simultaneously until Chart B has been completely worked. There will be 17 sts between SMs. Continue in pattern from Chart A to first SM, put 17 sts between SMs on waste yarn, rejoin row, and continue in pattern. Continue to knit Chart A until your mitts are 8 /21.5 cm or /1 cm shorter than total desired length. With MC, K 1 row. Switch to smaller dpns. With MC work 5 rounds of K2P2 rib. Bind off.

THUMB With smaller dpns, put 17 sts from waste yarn back onto needles. With MC, pick up and knit 3 sts, join to begin working in the round, and K 1 row. Work K2P2 rib for 5 rounds. Bind off loosely.

FINISHING Weave in all loose ends, carefully tightening any holes near the base of the thumb. Block. Make a second mitt.
