A GLOBAL PLATFORM (U)SIM OTA PLATFORM

MCTEL (U)SIM OTA is able to manage SIM conformant to ETSI/3GPP standards for Over The Air remote management, including: Remote File Management (RFM): allows reading, writing and modifying the content of appropriate directories and files (EF) in the SIM. Remote Application Management (RAM), allows managing applications (e.g. Java applets stored in the SIM). In order to avoid loading the operator's SMS-Centre(s), MCTEL SIM OTA solution offers the following features: Embedded SMS-Centre directly delivers the OTA SMS over the SS7 network with high reliability and throughput and without loading the operator SMSC Extension to support the new BIP (Bearer Independent Protocol) and CAT-TP protocols allow exchanging large payloads with the SIM over IP/GPRS MCTEL solutions are based on relevant standards and thus work with all SIM supporting those standards. As the SIM parameters can vary (e.g. TAR of the RFM application), MCTEL validates new SIM regularly. When MCTEL supplies its solution, MCTEL validates all SIM card models used by the operator to ensure smooth operation. MCTEL suite of solutions proposes modules that complete and complement MCTEL (U)SIM OTA:
Embedded SMS-Centre for high throughput SMS OTA, Roaming Steering suite: The platform allows the administrator to edit the list of allowed/prohibited roaming partners. It updates the SIM file and refreshes only for users roaming on a target country whose list of preferred partners have been defined, Dynamic SIM Toolkit: allows the platform to easily offer Dynamic SIM Toolkit features: S@T Server and supporting any S@T enabled SIM and interworking with USSD Gateway. Customized tools are provided to manage dynamically the choices of any STK Browser stored in specific EF (format of EF must be provided) using Remote File Management, Cell Broadcast Centre: The platform allows editing the list of CBC channels and broadcast information to SIM (e.g. activation and deactivation of CBC channels) Any specific needs: for example updating data onto DUAL IMSI SIM card hosting STK applications managing roaming information.
