6:00 A.M.
LUKE 24:1-13 (NIV) On the rst day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3but when they entered, they did not nd the body of the Lord Jesus. 4While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was s ll with you in Galilee: 7The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucied and on the third day be raised again. 8Then they remembered his words. When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. 10It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. 11 But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. 12Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened. Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem.

LUKE 24:1-13 (NRSV)
But on the rst day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, taking the spices that they had prepared. 2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3but when they went in, they did not nd the body. 4While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them. 5The women were terried and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. 6Remember how he told you, while he was s ll in Galilee, 7that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners, and be crucied, and on the third day rise again. 8Then they remembered his words, 9 and returning from the tomb, they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest. Now it was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles. 11But these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. 12But Peter got up and ran to the tomb; stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths by themselves; then he went home, amazed at what had happened.13Now on that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem,

11:00 A.M.
LUKE 24:1-13 (The Message)
At the crack of dawn on Sunday, the women came to the tomb carrying the burial spices they had prepared. They found the entrance stone rolled back from the tomb, so they walked in. But once inside, they couldn't nd the body of the Master Jesus. HYMN OF PRAISE & UNISON SCRIPTURES They were puzzled, wondering what to make of this. Then, out of nowhere it seemed, two men, light cascading over them, stood there. The women were awestruck and bowed down in worship. The men said, "Why are you looking for the Living One in a cemetery? He is not here, but raised up. Remember how he told you when you were s ll back in Galilee that he had to be handed over to sinners, be killed on a cross, and in three days rise up?" Then they remembered Jesus' words. They le the tomb and broke the news of all this to the Eleven and the rest. Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them kept telling these things to the apostles, but the apostles didn't believe a word of it, thought they were making it all up. But Peter jumped to his feet and ran to the tomb. He stooped to look in and saw a few grave clothes, that's all. He walked away puzzled, shaking his head. 13-16That same day two of them were walking to the village Emmaus, about seven miles out of Jerusalem. They were deep in conversa on, going over all these things that had happened. In the middle of their talk and ques ons, Jesus came up and walked along with them. But they were not able to recognize who he was.

Fasting for the Lenten Season - 2012

We are calling for a period of prayer and fas ng for the en re church during the Season of Lent, Ash Wednesday, February 22nd through Resurrec on Sunday, April 8, 2012. And the tempter came and said to him, If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread. Ma hew 4:1-3 Fas ng has been used throughout the ages to prepare the people of God for the great things God has in store for them. As we pray through this season of transi on and Divine imagina on, I am calling, I am asking, I am reques ng the en re church become involved in some form of prayer and fas ng. Lenten Meditation
JESUS AS TEACHER COMMENCEMENT
The weeks leading up to Easter were like those before a school gradua on, full of hope but also full of trepida on. Jesus and his disciples had gone through so much. The excitement of Palm Sunday was invigora ng, but Good Friday brought an end to all hope. Had the disciples made a big mistake, seeking a new kingdom but nding that they had lost and evil had won? Easter morning answered this ques on with a great big No! It was not a mistake, because Jesus is the eternal Yes! It is all worth the struggle. James Russell Lowell captures the picture in wri ng words for the hymn, Once to Every Man and Na on. Though the cause of evil prosper, Yet s truth alone is strong, Truth forever on the scaold, Wrong forever on the throne. Yet, that scaold sways the future, And behind the dim unknown, Standeth God within the shadow Keeping watch above his own. Easter does not eliminate Lent. Neither, do Gods promises mean life will be easy, but we do come to realize that life is s ll worth living. In school, studying does bring knowledge. Careful experimenta on brings failures but also rewards. Diligence pays o. God is with us through all of it, and when we respond faithfully the diploma is nally in our hands. Jesus teaches us never to despair and give up. The down days, the mes of discouragement, mes when it seems that our life has li le value are part of the curriculum of life. God helps us to endure, restores our vision and renews our hope. Easter is here! Christ is risen! Your life and the worlds life lead to commencement. It is now me to take what we have learned and move on with strength and understanding to achieve new goals.

2012 Trinity UCC Theme Walking, Talking and Living Our Faith, Ephesians 4 (NLT)
January Ephesians 4:1 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. February Ephesians 4:2 Always be humble and gentle. Be pa ent with each other, making allowance for each others faults because of your love. March Ephesians 4:3 Make every eort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. April Ephesians 4:4 For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. May Ephesians 4:5-6 There is one Lord, one faith, one bap sm, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all. June Ephesians 4:7 However, he has given each one of us a special gi through the generosity of Christ. July Ephesians 4:11 Now these are the gi s Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. August Ephesians 4:12 Their responsibility is to equip Gods people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. September Ephesians 4:13 This will con nue un l we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of Gods Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. October Ephesians 4:14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We wont be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be inuenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. November Ephesians 4:15-16 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body t together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. December Ephesians 31-32 Get rid of all bi erness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
