This is an individual coursework weighted at 50% for the Managing People & Performance Module. Objective of the Project: Students must demonstrate their ability to: Demonstrate a systematic understanding and critical evaluation of key aspects of employee reward strategy used in managing the performance of the organisation. Demonstrate the ability to compare and appraise different business theories and perspectives of employee reward and performance. Analyse, critically evaluate and communicate information & concepts of varying degrees of complexity as applied to managing reward and employee appraisal.

Below are the alternative topics for the Individual Assignment: 1. Using practical examples, critically evaluate how the increase of women in the workplace has influenced the provision of rewards and benefits in contemporary organisations. 2. Critically discuss the extent to which the emergence of performance management system has become a strategy to managing employee contribution for organizational effectiveness. 3. Critically examine the needs of the younger workforce and analyse how rewards strategies could drive better performance outcomes from Generation Y employees for organisations. Requirements: 1) You are required to interpret the chosen statement and answer the question with analysis of more than two cases/examples of company rewards strategies or performance management systems(depending on the question selected). 2) Your analysis must highlight the practices and explore implications of these practices. 3) You must develop suggestions or provide recommendations based on the analysis given.

Project Deliverables: You are required to choose any ONE of the above topics. Thorough and well referenced research must be carried out for the assignment. An appropriate report structure is required. (Introduction, body and conclusion) Format: Using font size 12, Times New Roman for writing style, spacing of 1.5. Word count should not exceed more than 2,200. You are required to demonstrate good comprehension of the module and exercise analytical skills in completing the assignment. Other Remarks Individuals are required to consult with the lecturer regularly to ensure the proper development of the project deliverables. Marking Scheme Students are expected to include the following in the assignment: Introduction and Interpretation Main issues/practices identified with supporting research Implications of practices (application of concepts) Suggestions Conclusion Overall quality, depth and critical evaluation TOTAL Performance Expectation Marks are awarded based on the following guidelines: Grade 80% 100% Description of performance level Good interpretation of question and a comprehensive analysis given.
