**Credits go to guy who made this video tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQli4DqJvTU **(This part is if you downloaded my files and folders...

If not, ignore this text, and follow the tutorial. Make sure you have all the programs and photoshop plugin the tutorial refers t o, though.) All programs are ordered by number. PLanB means to use in case the first version doesn't work, even though first version is always recommended.** 1)Open Photoshop. 2)Open/Browse either of your two pictures. Both must be *.jpeg, *.jpg, or *.png *Notes: If you're just making regular spray picture (no fade or animation), then choose one picture only and skip steps 7-10 and skip second program: (DirectX Texture Tool). 3)Go to Image>Image Size> uncheck constrain proportions and Scale Styles. (...if you're using Photoshop on a PC...; if you are on Mac, just uncheck the first two boxes, that's all!) Then, Resolution: 300, Width: 256 Pixels, Height: 256 Pixels. *Notes: Double check to make sure you typed everything correctly. Then, make sure "Document Size" is in inches. If you think you did this right, Press OK. Save it as a .dds (this is the photoshop plugin you downloaded from NVIDIA or from me (both are same thing) ). DO NOT PRESS "SAVE" YET!!! 4)A window will pop up: Ok, the text on the left of "Save" should be "DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha" Then, make sure it says "2D Texture". Also, make sure "MIP Map Generation" set to "Generate MIP maps" Now press "Save". That's it! Nothing else! 5)Do same to second picture. 6)Save them anywhere, but I recommend to save both of them in my "My Own Sprays" folder for this (...your first spray-making, I'm assuming...) tutorial. 7)Open the second program, "DirectX Texture Tool". 8)Open the image you see from "far away" (.dds version). 9)File>Open Onto This Surface... Select the image you see when you "come closer". *Notes: "Use PageUp and PageDown to cycle through mipmaps. Make sure they work properly." 10)If mipmaps seem to work, save as .dds (under a different filename (EXAMPLE: fadingspray.dds) 11)Open program VPKTool (this is for converting .dds to .vtf *important!) 12)Press "Texture Tools"

13)Open the "fadespray.dds" you just made. For non-fade/non-animation spray, open just the .dds from the one you saved in photoshop. 14)Checkmark MinMIP *important. For non-fade/non-animation spray, don't checkmark. 15)Now you can press "Convert DDS to VTF". 16)Exit program. Open program "VTFEdit" (This is to test your final fade-spray or regular spray) 17)Open your new *.vtf file in VTFEdit 18)"Play with the mipmaps arrows to make sure the image changes" (unless you are making just a regular spray image) 19)Go to Options>chechmark "Autocreate.vmt" 20)Now go to File>press "Save" (this creates the important .vmt file). COPY BOTH THE .vtf AND .vmt FILES TO THIS DIRECTORY (on PC): C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\*YOURUSERNAME\team fortress 2\tf\material s\vgui\logos GO TO TF2 GAME (or other Source game) AND PRESS OPTIONS>MULTIPLAYER>choose the s pray YOU ARE DONE! CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOU CAN NOW MAKE AND SPRAY FADE-DISTANCE OR REG ULAR SPRAYS!!!
