Incidents to use as examples: Smiling Joe incident- you could discuss the power struggle between Brett and Smiling Joe; further into the novel you could discuss how the police sergeant questions Bretts story. Brett running away- how he tries to empower himself. Bretts arrival at The Farm- the paddy wagon, the tour etc.
