Pythagorean Triples Formula

Pythagorean Triples Formula In Geometry of right triangles, Pythagoras theorem plays a major role which states that "The Square of the Hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides". A set of three positive whole numbers a, b, and c that are the lengths of the sides of a right triangle which satisfy the equation from the Pythagorean Theorem a2 + b2 = c2 is called a pythagorean triples. Examples of Pythagorean Triples A Pythagorean triple is commonly written as (a, b, c). The smallest example of a Pythagorean triple is a = 3, b = 4, and c = 5. We can verify that (3)2 + (4)2 = 9 + 16 = 25 = (5)2. A primitive Pythagorean triple is a triple in which a, b and c are co prime. In other words, the greatest common divisor of the three numbers a ,b and c should be only 1. Imprimitive Pythagorean triple can be obtained from primitive Pythagorean triples, by multiplying each of a, b, and c by any positive whole number k > 1. a2 + b2 = c2 if and only if (ka)2 + (kb)2 = (kc)2. Thus, If (a, b, c) is a Pythagorean triple, then so is (ka, kb, kc) for any positive integer k. For example, (6,8,10) and (9,12,15) are imprimitive Pythagorean triples obtained from the Pythagorean triple (3,4,5) by multiplying it with 2 and 3 respectively. Pythagorean Triples Formula All the pythagorean triple can be derived from a simple formula.Let m and n be two positive integers, with m < n. Then n2 - m2, 2mn, and n2 + m2 is a Pythagorean triple. Algebraically, it is easy to check that the sum of the squares of the first two is the same as the square of the last one. The first few triples for m and n between 1 and 6 are given below.

Definition of Corresponding Angles

Definition of Corresponding Angles Corresponding angles are formed when a transversal cuts a pair of parallel lines. A straight line is said to be transversal, if the line cuts two or more parallel lines at different points. In the figure shown above, the line l cuts the parallel lines x and y. So, the line l is called as a transversal line. When a transversal cuts two parallel lines, eight angles are formed. In this article, we are going to solve the corresponding angles among the eight angles. How to Solve Corresponding Angles The corresponding angles formed by a transversal are equal. In the above figure, angle d and angle f are corresponding angles. Another pair of corresponding angles are (e and c), ( h and b) and (a and g). Therefore we have, angle f = angle d angle e = angle c angle h = angle b angel g = angle a

Using the above formulas, we can easily solve the corresponding angles problems. Example Problems on Corresponding Angles In the given figure, if the angle a is 52 degree, then find the other seven angles. Solution : Given that La = 52 degree and Lg and La are corresponding angles. So, La and Lg are equal. Therefore Lg = 52 degree. We know that a straight angle has a measure of 180 degree. so, La + Ld = 180 degree. 52 + Ld = 180 Ld = 180 - 52 Ld = 128 Here Ld and Lf are corresponding angles. Therefore, Ld and Lf are equal. Therefore, Lf is also 128 degree. We know that, a straight angle has a measure of 180 degree. So, La + Lb = 180 degree. 52 + Lb = 180 Lb = 180 - 52 Lb = 128 Here, Lb and Lh are corresponding angles. Therefore, Lb and Lh are equal. Therefore, Lh is also 128 degree. We know that a straight angle has a measure of 180 degree. So, Lb + Lc = 180 degree. 128 + Lc = 180 Lc = 180 - 128 Lc = 52 Here, Lc and Le are corresponding angles. Therefore, Lc and Le are equal. Therefore, Lc is also 52 degree.
