North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference, (Multiple Locations)
Attendee: Fall 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Physical and Respiratory Section Abstract Reviewer: All abstracts submitted to the conference in the physical and respiratory therapy section were reviewed for content, study design and overall appropriateness. Scores were compiled from all reviewers to determine if the conference was to accept or decline the abstract. Accepted abstracts were presented in poster, workshop or symposium form to the conference. Spring 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2011 United States Physical Therapist Meeting Moderator: Invited to lead the US physical therapist special interest group meeting. Will lead the group discussion on unique & current issues the US physical therapist face with the care and treatment of the cystic fibrosis population. Invited to Moderate: Fall 2011 Pre-Conference Course Instructor: Invited to lecture on the role and scope of physical therapy in the cystic fibrosis population for the conferences Nuts and Bolts of Cystic Fibrosis pre-conference course. This is a multi-disciplinary course is designed for health care providers that are new to the cystic fibrosis population and have less than 2 years of experience. Invited to Lecture: Fall 2011 Roundtable Moderator: Setting Up a Comprehensive Exercise Program. Led a multidisciplinary group of cystic fibrosis health care providers (including PT, RT, NP, MD, SW, RD & PhD) in small evidence based group discussion about designing both inpatient and outpatient exercise programs to fit different hospitals and clinics. Fall 2006 to 2010 and Invited to Moderate in 2011 Workshop Session Moderator: Exercise: Physiology, Testing and Prescription. Designed educational objectives, selected presenters from the submitted abstracts to present their current research findings on the session topic. Physical Therapy Mentor: Currently serve as one of three mentors in the United States for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundations mentorship pilot program. Physical therapists with less than two years of experience are matched with expert mentors for clinical site visits. The mentor and mentee develop learning objectives prior to the visit based on current practice compared to best practice as defined by the foundation. The mentee then spends one to two days observing physical therapy practice at the mentors site to address these objectives. The mentor spends the following year communicating with the mentee to facilitate attaining best practice and questions surrounding any issues pertaining to the physical therapy care of the cystic fibrosis population. Boston Renegades Beepball Team: Volunteer assistant coach for a modified form of baseball for the
legally blind called Beepball in the National Beepball Association. The team is currently ranked 7th in the world. Duties include running the defensive instruction for the team at practices, defensive spotter during games, ensuring proper stretching and warm-ups, serving as the teams medical liaison and assist with setup of drills and instruction. Won the Presidential Volunteer Service Award in 2009 for this work. Winter 2006 to Present

Boston Marathon Runner for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation: Raised over $130,000 for the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation since 2002 in support of running the Boston Marathon. Runner and finisher on the following dates: April 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009 & 2010.
