The first article I did was titled Budweiser is Luxury in China where beer cost 30 cents.

In China, cheap beer is fact of life since the Brew in China sells at one third the price compared to United States foreign brewers. The idea is to get increasingly affluent Chinese (CHH1) to switch from local beers that sell for as little as 1.87 yuan (30 cents) for a 330-milliliter bottle to foreign lagers such as Budweiser, which costs about 6.13 yuan [1]. They are setting up breweries in China to get a greater market for their beer. The four biggest players -- China Resources Enterprise Ltd. (291), the partner of SABMiller Plc (SAB), Anheuser-Busch InBev NV (ABI), Tsingtao Brewery Co. (168), which partners Asahi Group Holdings Ltd. (2502); and Beijing Yanjing Brewery Co. (000729) -- already account for 59 percent of the beer sold, according to Euromonitor International [1]. They wanna boost their profits to the 360 billion yuan market. It is become more popular to consume foreign beers in China within the young population because they are making more money, have a higher income, and a greater acceptance of exotic goods said Olive Xia who is an analyst with Core Pacific Yamaichi International Ltd in Shanghai, China. The consumption of beer in 2016 is estimated to reach 61.4 billion litter since the sale is going to outpace local beers. In 2011 beer consumption rose 4.8 percent with 47.5 billion liters in China. I think this is pretty interesting to see how people in China have beer that cheap. This said a Chinese veteran activist was left disabled by police mistreatment in the past she was now sentenced to two years and eight months for fraud and causing trouble. Ni Yulan along with her husband Dong Jiqin was sentenced by a Beijing court [2]. They caused a disturbance at a hotel where the police detained them last year after they were arrested. China carried out a sweeping crackdown to deter popular uprisings such as the ones that shook the Arab world [2]. The charges have been denied because she says they are being punished for years of activism. The European Union issued a statement in front of the court Tuesday saying it was "deeply concerned" about Ni's sentence and that because of her poor health she should be released immediately [2]. She was jailed twice before and was pinned down by the police and kicked until she cant walk and had to crawl up and down five stories and across the prison yard every day for months [2].
