Work Experiences
Leeds Mencap (February 2012-Present) Working as a PR intern. Its a Leeds branch of nationwide charity Mencap that works for the betterment of Learning Disabled People. The job profile includes preparing fundraiser PR strategies and campaigns, doing primary and secondary research needed for it. Assisting in organising those events (includes event management work also). Thane Janadhar (March 2011- June 2011) Worked as a journalist. Its a regional newspaper with a circulation of around 50,000. The job profile included searching for the story in the city, investigating further and summing the details in a news report. Covered all beats, activities happening in the given area, press conferences, cultural events, etc.; but specialised in the fashion and lifestyle beat. Interviewed a few major personalities from politics, entertainment industry in the city. New Horizons Child Development Center (February 2011- May 2011) Worked as a receptionist. This NGO works for the special children (autism, learning disorder etc.) to cure them by giving them the essential therapy to overcome their inability. The job profile included answering the phone calls, updating the callers about the work, and also reporting the seniors about the progress on the child. Maintained records of the improvement and the requirements of the child. Also, assisted the professional therapists with the treatment. Dealt with the cash transactions and kept traces of the financial accounts of the organisation.

Leeds Metropolitan University, UK. (2011-2012expected) MA-Public Relations Experience of working for a real client as a part of the academic module. Its a non-profit organisation with an unorganised business structure. Trying to help this client gather funds and get media attention by formulating a communication plan. Studying about the management and organisational skills that any PR or HR person should know to maintain the internal and external environment of the organisation.

Studying corporate communication skills and ethics in an intercultural context i.e. the change in the ethics different countries of the world. Researching the minute details in case studies, discussing them either via PowerPoint or via group discussion and summing them concisely into a written report.
