This software is only a tool to assist you in re-using a former device. Any other use is outside the scope of this document. Devices currently supported: You may find it successful using this program to unlock the following devices. More devices will be added to this list as time goes on. Linksys RTP300 Linksys WRTP54G Linksys PAP2 v2.0 Motorola vt2442 D-Link VTA-VR Vtech IP8100

(run using cmd-line arg:

DLINK )

** To use this tool with a D-link VTA-VR, make sure to add the CMD-line arg: DLINK For example: c:\> cyt46.exe DLINK ** --Possible Command-line args are: DLINK <-- use this when working with D-Link devices MOTO <-- use this when working with Motorola devices VTECH <-- use this when working with VTech IP8100 --------------------------------------------------------------This version brings the ability to make customized XML configs and feed them to your device. You may edit them using any standard XML editor or use this CYT version. Make note to keep the proper order of XML tags, or CYT will not be able to read the XML file. As of this release, CYT4.5 works with the following XML files: generic.xml * fwd.xml voipstunt.xml * sipgate.xml This This This This is the XML that offers the most 'default' settings. XML works with FWD. (not included in this release) XML works with voipstunt. Add your SIP login info. XML is for sipgate. (not included in this release)

NOTE: The sipgate.xml will be released once it has passed beta-testing. ---------------------------------------------------------------

Version 4.6 now has the ability to perform very simple XML editing. This is to assist you in quickly setting up your device. Some sample XML files are included, preconfigured for some BYOD services. Make sure to set the IP address of your device (option 3) before using option 4! Any changes you make using CYT (option 4 - customize XML) will be saved to the XML files! This means that if you ender SIP credentials, they will be saved in plain-text. (CAUTION: SIP passwords in plain text!) Some BUGfix work was done on maintaining compatibility with the many devices CYT supports. If you found an older version to work when the cyt39c did not work, try this version. CYT4.6 known bug: Custom XML dialplan string does not edit properly if line wraps on screen. The dialplan will contain valid data, even if it looks messed-up on the customize-XML screen. * This will be fixed in next release. --------------------------------------------------------------Version 3.9c brings in the option to set the Admin and user passwords to custom values (not just default 'Admin' and 'user') BUGFIX: 3.4 has a port error. this is corrected. --------------------------------------------------------------What do look for if it does not work: 1. Check to make sure you have a web browser open to the device. (that means login as 'admin', not just open the page). 2. Make sure windows firewall is disabled. The device needs to talk to the PC running the CYT program! 3. Did you wait long enough? It can easily take up to 1 minute! * If you change the Admin / user passwords and forget them, just run CYT program again and reset them! Remember, this will destroy your custom SIP settings each time you run the CYT program... --------------------------------------------------------------What this tool DOES do: This tool will allow you to re-use that old SIP device. Many of the big service providers will not unlock the device, as they may fear it being used for the competition. Our feeling about this is that you should be allowed to make your own opinion! If you just quit a service provider and wish to try another, why should you be required to purchase an additional device, when you already own this one! To say it another way, this tool will change the "Admin" and "user" passwords to default values (they will match the usernames). This tool will also load-up your device with generic SIP settings, ready for you to customize to that new service provider. What this tool DOES NOT do:

This tool will NOT unlock your device and retain the SIP settings. Consider using this tool the same way you would perform a "full reset" of all settings in the VOICE section. Just assume all previous SIP settings will be lost. This tool will not work on a device located in a remote location. The software will only function when the device is on the same subnet as the computer running the software. So, no, you can not unlock your neighbors device over the Internet. OK, how to use it: First, configure your network so that: - your PC is either connected directly to a LAN port on the device or you have the device connected to a simple switch or hub and the PC is also connected to the same simple switch. For Example: +----------+ +------+ +----------+ | Computer |<---->|Switch|<-->|SIP Device| +----------+ +------+ +----------+ 192.168.15.100 - 192.168.15.1 This example shows the SIP device is offering the IP of 192.168.15.1 on the LAN interface and that your PC has the IP of 192.168.15.100. - This application requires two-way communication with the SIP device. This means you will need to temporarily disable the Windows firewall or open port 2400/TCP on the windows PC running the software application. - After wiring your device and PC in a similar fashion as shown above, you can run the software application from a Windows PC. - The first menu, verify your IP of the SIP device. If incorrect, you can press "3" to enter the correct IP of the SIP device. - If you already have your SIP information (login / password), try using option "4" to put in the information. Press [ENTER] when done. - Using your favorite web browser, login to your SIP device. This is required for the software to run. Skipping this step will display a security violation on your screen. - To start the 'reset' process, press "1". * NOTE: After the software talks to your SIP device, you should wait up to 1 or 2 minutes for your SIP device to accept the new configuration values. Be patient! - After about 1 or 2 minutes, the screen should change. You should see a screen announcing the new Admin and user passwords. - This screen is normally a sign that your device has succeeded in the unlocking process. Try to access the SIP settings to verify this. (On the Linksys SIP device, you should be able to access /update.html. The username will be Admin (yes, capital A ) and the same (Admin) for the password.
