TR ACK #1: THE CHANGING SURVEY L ANDSCAPE Surveyors today face a dramatically different landscape than even 20 years ago. GPS/GNSS, Robotic Total Stations, Direct Reex Distance Measurement, and Virtual Reference Station (VRS) technology, along with a plethora of new software programs, have added powerful new tools to the surveyors toolbox. New satellite signals are coming on line and the communications landscape is constantly changing. This track offers a sampling of the changing role of the surveyor and unique applications of surveying technology. In addition to sharing experiences with fellow professionals, youll enjoy sessions on new technology for GPS/GNSS, total stations, and data acquisition. CONNECTED SITE SHOWCASE TR ACK TR ACK # 2: THE E XPANDING INFR ASTRUCTURE Around the globe today, a growing number of scalable RTK networks are being implemented. From a single permanent reference station to large, area-wide Trimble VRS networks, scalable GPS/GNSS infrastructures are providing surveyors with a vast array of surveying options. Engage with network specialists from throughout the world to discover why RTK GPS/GNSS The theme of the 2006 Trimble Dimensions Conference, Building Your Connected Site, encapsulates a wide variety of technologies that can be utilized between the back ofce and job sites to enhance productivity, protability, and on-site operations. This showcase highlights some projects and experiences that particularly illustrate how a variety of intelligent or connected devices can literally connect your job site and your ofce, reducing rework, improving asset utilization, timeliness of design updates, billing cycles, project bidding, and planning. CONSTRUCTION SERVICES TR ACK : MANAGING YOUR ASSETS FOR IMPROVED CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS Whether you work on one site or manage several concurrently, accessing information about your trucks, machines, people, or portable assets is a critical element to optimizing on-site operations and improving your services business. Presentations in this track illustrate the benets customers are experiencing with Trimbles construction asset management solution to reduce their costs and improve the productivity of their assets. Examples include automatically recording hours of use for project billing and maintenance, as well as quantifying asset utilization for better decision making when allocating assets to various projects. The track will include a macro look at how to adopt this productivity-enhancing technology, a panel discussion, and a VIP guided tour of the Partner Pavilion, plus well review some important new technologies. TR ACK # 5 : CONSTRUCTION E XECUTIVES This special one-day track is aimed at CEOs, VPs, and Senior Project Managers who would like an overall understanding of how positioning technology is changing the industry. Learn how these technologies can increase your overall prots and reduce key expense items, and the process to best meet these objectives. Sessions include GPS/GNSS Basics for Construction and Monitoring Progress Volumes on Construction Projects, plus interactive feedback sessions with Trimble experts that will provide a valuable, peer-led learning environment.
