The Definition of Hypothesis Hypothesis is the temporal answer of the format of research problem, which the format of the research problem has been stated in the form of question sentence. It is said as temporal because the answer given is based on the relevant theory, not based on the empirical facts acquired through collecting data. So hypothesis may be also stated as the theoretical answer of the format of the research problem, not the empirical answer yet. Hypothesis is the tool which has very big usage in a scholar or scientific research. Hypothesis is possible for us to associate the theory with the research and vice versa research with the theory. 1. Hypothesis should be made because the following reasons: 1.) Hypothesis which has the strong principle to show that the research has had enough knowledge to conduct the research in that scope. 2.) Hypothesis gives the direction of collecting and interpreting data. Hypothesis may show to the researcher what the procedure is that must be followed and what kinds of data should be collected. So it can be prevented the wasting time and the researchers effort. For example, a reader finds an article with high quality in Wikipedia may be possible to form hypothesis that Wikipedia articles may be only published by the requirements of Professor with Ph.D title. It may be considered as hypothesis because falsifiable: may be blamed by being aware that everyone may publish the Wikipedia article, used a link Edit this page o every page. An experiment relating to it is by click the link, publish and save it. If the page which is changed appears, and you do not have this Ph.D title, your hypothesis is blamed and the experiment is over.

2. The Ways to Make a Good Hypothesis There are several requirements to make a good hypothesis, namely: -It should be in the form of a statement that directs to the target of the research and formulated clearly. -It should be in the form of a statement formulated in order to be examined empirically - It should be in the form of a statement which is developed base on the theories or stronger rather than the rival hypothesis and supported by the theories should be stated by the experts or the result of a relevant research 3. The characteristics of good hypothesis There are some characteristics of good hypothesis. A good hypothesis or the temporal answer should include several things as follow:

1.) 2.) 3.) 4.) 5.)

hypothesis must have the explanation power hypothesis must state the relationship expected in the variables hypothesis must be able to be tested hypothesis should be consistent to the existed knowledge hypothesis should be stated as simple and brief as possible

B. Formulating Theoretic Hypothesis and Statistic Hypothesis in Research According to form, hypothesis is divided into three, i.e.: 1. Research hypothesis/action: research hypothesis is the researchers fundamental consideration of the problem being examined. In this hypothesis, the researcher considers his/her hypothesis that will be proved empirically through testing hypothesis by using data acquired over conducting a research. e.g.: there is a relationship between economy crisis with the total of stress people 2. Operational hypothesis: operational hypothesis is not only based on the fundamental consideration but after it is tested with the data exist. Hence the researcher need comparative hypothesis which is objective and neutral or technically mentioned as zero hypothesis (H0). H0 is used to give balance to the research hypothesis because the researcher believes in the later research, true or wrong of research hypothesis depends on the proves acquired over conducting the research. 3. Statistic Hypothesis: it is hypothesis that is formulated in the form of statistic notation. This hypothesis is formulated base on the observation of the researcher to the population in the form of numeric (quantitative). e.g.: H0:r=0; or H0:p=0
