Our parish goal is $250,000, of which $91,000 is our
Diocesan assessment. As you know, both the front and the
rear parking lots of our property are turning into sand lots.
The rebates we receive from PSA will be used to begin
the feasibility study of our new parking lots.

REJOICE AND BE GLAD
During the first three or four centuries of Christianity, if
you asked a Christian to name the feast days of the
church, your answer would have been a puzzled stare, for
there was only one feast: the Resurrection of the Lord.
Every Sunday was a feast celebrating the one great feast.
Even though our calendar now has many beautiful and
holy feasts, we must continually be called back to the fact
that all these other feasts exist because of the feast of
Christs passover from death to life. The psalm today
proclaims this message well: This is the day. It is not
one of many days, but it is the day of all days, the one that
gives all the others their origin, purpose, meaning, and
destiny. Listen carefully to Peters speech in Acts with its
recollection of the Passion, to the words of the apostle
Paul, and to the account of Mary Magdalene, John, and
Peter finding the empty tomb, and you will hear the many
wonderful works that God has done for us through Christ.

Rejoice, let Mother Church also rejoice, arrayed with the
lighting of his glory, let this holy building shake with joy, filled
with the mighty voices of the peoples.
The Lord be with you.
And with your spirit.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right and just.
It is truly right and just, with ardent love of mind and heart, and
with devoted service of our voice, to acclaim our God invisible,
the almighty Father, and Jesus Christ, our Lord, his Son, his
Only Begotten. Who for our sake paid Adams debt to the
eternal Father, and pouring out his own dear Blood wiped clean
the record of our ancient sinfulness. These then are the feasts
of Passover, in which is slain the Lamb, the one true Lamb,
whose Blood anoints the doorposts of believers.
This is the night, when once you led our forebears, Israels
children, from slavery in Egypt and made them pass dry-shod
through the Red Sea. This is the night that with a pillar of fire
banished the darkness of sin.
This is the night that even now, throughout the world, sets
Christian believers apart from worldly vices and from the
gloom of sin, lending them to grace, and joining them to his
holy ones.
This is the night when Christ broke the prison-bars of death,
and rose victorious from the underworld.
O wonder of your humble care for us!
O love, O charity beyond all telling, to ransom a slave you gave
away your Son!
O truly necessary sin of Adam, destroyed completely by the
Death of Christ!
O happy fault that earned so great, so glorious a Redeemer!

Saint Polycarp School admits students of any race, color,

of that month. This will be a full day program focusing
primarily on the developmental achievements of the student
including emotional, social and intellectual aspects of learning.
Our mission is to prepare our youngest learners for the strong
academic years ahead at St. Polycarp School. Call the school

Annual GOLF TOURNAMENT!!!!! St. Polycarp
Catholic School will be holding their 4th Annual Golf
Tournament at Meadowlark Golf Course in Huntington Beach
on April 28 at 7am. The Tournament format will be a shotgun
start, 4-man scramble; cost is $130 per person. This includes:
greens fees, cart, complimentary beverages, and banquet lunch.

OPEN HOUSE: Open House Tuesdays are back and will
continue every Tuesday until the end of the school

CENTER.
We provide pregnancy testing, information, and referrals
for assistance. Life Center always needs regular size
towels and face cloths. Used maternity clothes, baby
clothes, and other baby items (such as diapers) are also
needed. Please consider donating any extras you may
have. All donations are Tax Deductible. FSC delivers all
donations to the Life Center.

TOILETRIES: We could really use disposable razors,
which are in short supply.

Nuestra campaa de PSA del 2012 ha comenzado!

ALGRENSE Y REGOCJENSE
Durante los primeros tres o cuatro siglos del cristianismo,
si se le preguntaba a un cristiano el nombre de las fiestas
de la Iglesia, su respuesta habra sido una mirada de
sorpresa porque haba una sola fiesta: la Resurreccin del
Seor. Cada domingo era una celebracin de la gran
fiesta. A pesar de que nuestro calendario tiene ahora
muchas fiestas hermosas y santas, continuamente
debemos ser llamados de nuevo al hecho de que todas
estas fiestas existen a causa de la fiesta del paso (Pascua)
de Cristo de la muerte a la vida. El Salmo de hoy
proclama este mensaje as: Este es el da. No es uno de
muchos das, pero es el da de todos los das, el que da a
todos los dems su origen, propsito, significado y
destino. Escuchen con atencin el discurso de Pedro en
Hechos recordando la Pasin, las palabras del apstol
Pablo y al recuento que hacen Mara Magdalena, Juan y
Pedro al encontrar la tumba vaca, y oirn las obras
maravillosas que Dios ha hecho para nosotros en Cristo.

TRADICIONES DE NUESTRA FE

Pascua viene de una palabra hebrea pesah que quiere
decir lugar de pastos e indica el final de un periodo de
ayuno. La Pascua Juda celebra la libertad del cautiverio
de Egipto. El cristianismo, siendo en su origen una secta
juda, tomo la fiesta de la Pascua para celebrar la muerte y
resurreccin de Jess quien nos da la libertad del
cautiverio pecaminoso de nuestras vidas.

Eventualmente el uso de Pascua pas a indicar
cualquier evento en la vida de Jess que aade a la
libertad que nos obtuvo en su vida, cruz y resurreccin.
He aqu porque tradicionalmente se hablaba de la Pascua
del Nacimiento, la Pascua Florida o Pascua de
Resurreccin y la Pascua del Espritu Santo (Pentecosts)
y todava en grandes fiestas religiosas del ao la gente se
saluda con Felices pascuas.

En los Estados Unidos, Argentina y otros pases se
celebra la Pascua (Easter en ingls) con la bsqueda de
huevos multicolores y supuestamente trados por una
coneja. Easter era una diosa teutnica cuyos smbolos
eran el huevo y la coneja, smbolos de vida y fertilidad
que pasaron a representar la nueva vida que se nos da al
ser liberados del pecado por la pascua de Jess.

Paps y padrinos, deberan asistr el primer

Domingo del mes a las 10:00 am para registrar a su
hijo(a) y al msmo tiempo para tomar la clase
requerida.
Padres: Traer una copia del certificado de
nacimiento de su hijo(a). No traiga el original.
Padrinos: Traer una copia del acta de matrimonio
de la Iglesia donde se casaron.
El Segundo Domingo de Cada mes es la
Ceremonia del Bautsmo a las 2:00 pm.
Habra una segunda platica el Jueves despues del
Bautizo a las 7:00pm.

Que el nio sea menor de 5 aos
