I FINISHED MY SHOPPING SPREE QUICKLY
SETTING
Tom and Judy have just returned from their trip to Europe.
They visited their son, Peter, who lives near Munich.
Tom is talking to his neighbor.
DIALOGUE
Did your luggage fnally appear?
No. After two hours we gave up. There was nothing we
could do.
So you just had the clothes on your back?
That's right. Clothes ft for Australian weather, not for
Germany this time of year.
How did Judy react?
She was very upset. You know how much she is into clothes.
I guess you went shopping after that?
Good guess! We spent half a day in a downtown
department store.
Did you buy a lot?
I didn't. Just the necessary things. I fnished my shopping spree
rather quickly, but Judy took her time.
What did you do while she was shopping?
First, I looked around a bit, but I got tired of it. So I went to a
restaurant on the top foor to have a look at the city.
NARRATIVE
Tom is writing a letter.
Dear Peter,
We have safely returned and overcome our jetlag. The best sou-
venirs we got are the clothes we bought the day we arrived. The
airline lost our luggage. Luckily they found it again...
QUESTIONS
What time did they arrive
in Frankfurt?
What time of the year did
they visit Peter?
How long did they stay?
When did they get their
luggage back?
What clothes did they
buy?
Did they buy anything
else?
What present did they
bring for Peter?
How much money did
they spend?
How did they pay, cash
or credit?
What time did they meet
Peter?
Did they spend much
time together?
