anyways for the next stage the frst step will be medical , u wont have to do anything just u ll have to be a bit liberal to grant them a few liberties ........... but it wont be bad height , weight , eye sight , coloer blindness , night blindness will be tested among many other things. then u ll go in psychological tests, it ll be of two days , frst day ll be written , it is simple u ll be given frst very simple arethmatic questions , no need to prepare for that , its fairly to simple , then there ll be some questions regarding ur personailty all they wanna see in u is that u are gud in working with team and u have leadership qualities and u have networks and friends that is u rnt a loner kinda person. u can judge it from the questions wont be hard. then u ll be given some pictures and u ll be asked to make down a story , they just wanna judge ur way of thinking whether it is positive prnegative,apparently the pic might seem negative for example a boy following a gal , make a story out of it , dunn make a negative one , u can say she droped her [urse and he is going to return it etc , i think u get my point.always end the story on positive note. so the next day comes, a group of 7 ppl ll be made , frst u ll go in group discussion , be positive in that , be courtious , be participative , dunn be over powering, dunn be rude , then their ll be role playing for example u are secretary education and other secrataries are the members this is the problem conduct a meeting about it . all this time the panel of psychologists ll be closely watching, then there ll be individual interview with the psychlogist panel, just be urself they ll ask simple things about u , ur family , why u wanna be in service etc. so u come to interview acha do one thing get the questions being used before ur interview by ur friends or someone, u ll know the trend , in interview just be very confident , dunn be overwhelmed by their posts or positions, get the basics things done such as kalmas all of them , nimaaz tarjama , the whole world map , a grisp on current affairs n developments , a good knowledge abt northern areas of pakistan.

PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS FIRST DAY Its a two days process.On the very first day you have to 1.Submit your original documents of your qualifications etc.ID card, Domicile etc. 2.Then you have to fill up a Bio Data form followed by your financial perfoma. 3.Then you have to answer around 45 MCQ type questions in 45 minutes which are based to test your general reasoning power.... 4.Then u are presented with a copy based on different set of figures (almost 60 questions) and u have to complete the series or in other words fill in the blanks with the correct figure.You are also again given 45 minutes to complete as many questions as you can.

5.Next you are given incomplete sentences like " I prefer honesty because......... " or "I wish........." You have to complete these sentences showing a positive approach .The time alloted is 8 minutes and there were almost 25 sentences to complete. 6.You have to choose true or false out of almost 20 sets of uncertain statemnets in 10 minutes. 7.Again you are presented with a form which carries questions concerning your personal life.... memorable events in your life,your 5 favourite books ,books which u have read about seerat-ul-Nabi, or by Quaid-i-Azam,Allama Iqbal , your favourite personalities etc. 8.Again you are given incomplete sentences and u have to complete them in 8 minutes. 9.Lastly you have to write 4 stories in just 20 minutes...5 minutes per story....and this year the stories were based on sentences like....."He was standing there and wondering............" You have to continue ahead from this line and in about 4 minutes you have to reach to a proper conclusion... That's the end of first day......In between all these tests they give you a two brakes of 10 minutes....... I guess i have mentioned all that comes in the tests of first day.....and have not forgotten something!!!!!!!! SECOND DAY :

1.Group disscussion Time alloted 15 minutes You have to discuss an URDU topic with the members of your group. 2.Again you are given a topic in ENGLISH and in 15 minutes you have to discuss the topic and present your point of view . The psychologists sitting at one corner of the room are there to watch you.And they note each and every candidate of the group quietly.What is his or her style,how she or he presents her points etc. So care must be taken that you must act in a moderate manner.Listen to the other persons view point attentively,express yourself and never Interfere anyone if he or she is talking.As it goes in negative.You have to show you are cooperative and rational ....don't be agressive and always agree or diasagree gracefully. 3.Then comes command tasks.In it you are given a task or a problem which you have to solve or discuss it mutually with your group members.At that time you are supposed to be an officer and the others are supposed to be your colleagues.I was given the task of a Chairman of a council who was supposed to devise a criteria for transparently awarding the creative writers . 4.Finally at the end of the day you are interviewed by psychologists about your personal life...just a general chit chat !!!! MEDICAL TESTS : The medical tests are based on blood test reports,ESR,Chest Xray ,urine,hepatits B and C.....If you wear glasses then you also will have to get a latest perscription with you. You have to take these reports on the day of medical check up alongwith you.There they also check your height,weight,ENT,etc.Just a general checkup they make and ultimately check your reports !!!!! Salam Psychological and Viva togetherly make the Final assessment. Psychologists have to make an assessment report of the candidate for his personality and his approach towards different departments. Panel for the Final Viva prepares questions mostly on the basis of the Psychological test's report, so psychological tests assess the aspirants abilities and capabilities and no one is said to be failed. Although, Panel members donot believe in the report altogether as they have to make their own assessment on the basis of all the reports and results of the candidates performance in different tests and at different times of his past life.

All the best, Psychological Tests are simple and for these tests you need no preperatoin. Just be yourself and honestly give answers to questions. On the first day there will be only written tests like sentence making and simple puzzles. Remember that you cannot complete them in the given time, just feel easy and attempt as much questions as you can. On the second day there will be group discussion in Urdu and then in English. Topics will be given to your group, first in Urdu and then in English. All of you will have to discuss them for 8 minutes each, by sitting in a half circle. Any one can initiate the discussion but remember that you must speak with confidence and reason. There is no need to initiate the discussion if you don't have any knowledge about the topic. Just listen for a few moments to other members of your group, form a comment in your mind and then speak about it it. After group discussion you will be given an administrative problem. You will have to study it for 15 minutes and write down yourrecommendations and decision on a blank paper. Then you will call a meeting, discuss the problem with all of your group members as if they were your sub-ordinates and finally take a decision about the matter. You will have to wind up the meeting in 8 minutes. And finally you will be interviewed by the psychologists about your personal life and problems. During the tests, just be yourself, avoid artificiality, act naturally and confidently. its a two days process . people are judged by the way they dress and present themselves) Day 1... On this day a hectic one and really just no attention... you can wear normal dress caz ur personality is not judged from the dress and appearence on that day but what u write. Those who check ur answer sheets are least bother about ur look. I personally am a person who take great care of his dressing and on that day I wore White Cotton dress with black shoes. I will suggest that white cotton suit or a dress pent with clean shirt will do the job. I personally do not encourage Jeans to any formal place so won't suggest that. Day 2. The Physcaterists judge u directly and ur personality should match ur words and arguments. The first impression of ur personality is ur dress. But as the day work is long so little care should be taken regarding the weather.On this day I wore a light brown dress pent with light blue colour shirt. I had Black shoes and a black belt.My sugestion for that day...If Shalwar Qameez... then vast coat is a must. preferably white shalwar suit and a dark colour vast coat( Blue or green or balck) with black shoes.if Pent Shirt.I will suggest a light colour dress pent with light colour shirt. Shoes and built of same colour but according to the dress colour.I will suggest a light brown colour, grey colour or any other colour pent with offwhite, light blue colour shirt. (if shirt is off-white and pent also brown then brown shoes and belt but if shirt is blue u can go for black shoes.) If u want u can go with a tie but not with a coat. DO not go with a suit on that day caz it will look really over on that day. Salam, Group-discussion is not a difficult thing and keep one point in your mind that this is not going to be the test of your knowledge.tHE WRITTEN PORTION OF CSS is predominantly is the test of your knowledge.Psychological-test which includes the IQ test-exercises,groupdiscussions,command-task and a small interview.I assure you that it is the test of your "OTHER-SKILLS". These include personality-confidence,decision-making power,articulation,concentration of thinking,cognitive-skill etc. The principle to take that test is very simple; a)Never pretend to be what you are not.They put detecters in their different exercices and if any contradiction is observed,you might be billed as a complex personality. b)Always try to be to-the-point.It is very much important.Sometimes one is asked something and the reply is something else.So do exercises by debating on the things with ur friends where you first discuss a topic,write its points and then determine after the discussion how many points which were discussed were relevant. c)Be composed.Never try to bully during the discussion and never discuss the idea for which you ve some doubts and you r not clear about it.

d)Use gentlemanly language during the discussion.And during the interview dont get confused.They will not be checking your knowledge but in the disguise of your interview they will be checking your over-all stature and tendencies. e)Dress up in a reasonable manner. ASP Ayaz,31st CTP

I think that the path to obtain good marks in interview leads from the psychological tests. The seniors told me that psychological tests are nothing and you dont need to worry about it, but I will not advise the same to my other CSSian. For the written part of the psychological test, just browse a guidebook like ISSB Test guide. It will give you an idea that what sort of tests you have to undertake. You MUST complete all the tests. Then for the verbal portion of psychological test, just speak in English as much as you can with you friends. Have a continuous and meticulous reading of newspapers and watch PTVs Khabarnama and especially the business news regularly. Do not forget to read the and memorize basic data from the Economic Survey of Pakistan, which is just released. Believe me, it will help you tremendously. Important: There should be harmony and consistency between what you write about yourself and family in written part, because that three psychologist would ask you about it and if they found any discrepancy, it might cerate negative persona of you. Another thing, you have to write three books you like most or you last finished reading (apart from academic or religious books i.e. Quran). Then they will ask you why you write these three books? So be ready to defend your choice. Although the psychological test does not carry marks, but logically speaking, the board interview take place immediately after the psychological test so your good performance in psychological test do reflect upon your total marks in interview. Aoa, I need some idea about Psychological test and preparation test(interview, pls. tell me about the main idea and balance of confidence during that test. i would like to say : If u want to be,what u want to be,be what u want to be,and to be what u want to be,believe what u want to be. just assess urself as u actually are and this is ur key to all tests then check whether u r in accordance with the required situation or not if not then try to bridge gap between u and ur

goal. Mohammad AoA dear hope u b in prosperity furthering/adding to statement by Muhammad try to meet maximum people and get their views about certain on going issues and share ur views with them in this way, think alone about pros and cons of ur ideas and of those people work out for the best methodology for any issue, make strong suggestions and make discussions with people on that specific issue, and try to convince them with ur views and tel them pros and cons and can give examples, if possible. so far as psychological behaviour is concerned, again sit alone at end of each day and think about ur daily routines that what u have done wrong and what right, try to make okay the wrongs and this can be done only by you and through ur mode of thinking. try to remain happy and never ever get stress or be tense dont fuss about sayings of other people and done alter ur good ways only by saying of people. try to tolerate several statements of several people etc. it is only a junk of ideas of mine perhaps some one would guide u in a more better way __________________ 'Thee woh ik shakhs kay tasawar saay - abb woh ranayee khayal kahaan' aoa, thanks to all for sharing. one thing i want to know is that what should a person do who has no work experience in govt dept?so would a little knowledge be okay for command task. can any one tell me some thing abt da structure of govt depts and da liabilities of officials.my psyc date is 20. jan.so need for an emergency briefing. thanksSarah plz relax....i think i can safely say that maybe 90% of the css candidates don't have govt. job experience. The comand task has nothing to do with knowledge about govt. depts. their responsibilities etc. The concept of command task is to see if u possess leadership qualities alongwith confidence. Also how u conduct a meeting. U will be given a write up and will be given 15 minutes to analyze the situation, the problem and think of some viable solutions. U may or may not be given the capacity in which u will be required to act eg. Chairman CBR, DCO IG police etc.The problem may be technical but they r not expecting a very technical solution from u. Very common sensical things also suffice. Then u will be asked to move to the head of table n u will have to bigin. U can start by saying that as Secretary Interior (or whatever ur title is. If no title is given don't say anything) i have called this meeting as we have a problem. Explain the problem as well as u can but in a short time. Then u start asking the other candidates one by one what their views are to the solution of this problem. Then conclude by thanking the collegues n announcing that u will follow the following plan of action: then u can state one i will do this, two i will do this and so on. Conclude n just get up from the head of the table n move back to ur chair.Remember u have to finish within 8 minutes its very important. Some examples that we had in our group were:

Secretary education is discussing the problems in education sector like political interference in teacher transfer etc. DCO faces problem that a big feudal lord ofhis district dies leaving behind a very young son. The uncle of the child wants to kill him. DCO has to come up with a solution in which both parties r to be kept satisfied. Secretary health has the problem of emission of industrial sulphuric gas in the open n it is causing a chaos. He has to give solution to this problem.
