-----------------------------------------------SECTION 1 About the CDrom -----------------------------------------------A. Which Tool are included in the CDrom ? This CDrom might contain tools for more architectures than you have bought (for example you might have bought 8051 tools and find on the CD 8051, XA and ST6 tools). Your license will enable only the tools you have bought. The other tools are just demo versions. B. Supported Configurations/Platforms The 32-bit RIDE IDE is designed for: 1. Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows 2000 2. Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 Professional 3. Windows 2000 NT Server is supported only with the Hardware Key. C. Command-line versions Most tools (assembler, linker.. ) are also available in DOS 32 bits (.exe) versions to be invoked from a MAKE utility. -----------------------------------------------SECTION 2 Installation Procedure -----------------------------------------------A. How to install The install procedure should start automatically when you insert the CDrom in the reader. If this is not the case, run INSTALL.EXE from the ROOT directory. B. Minimum System Requirements * 8 MB RAM (or more) * 80486 processor or better * About 40 Mb of free hard disk space for a complete setup (around 15Mb for one toolchain only, depending on the toolchain) C. Software Protection Tools are by default in DEMO mode. This means they are code-size limited, with the limit depending on the tool. If you are reading this file as a part of a product you have bought from Raisonance, you either have a Hardware Key (dongle) or a Serial Number to unlock the full functionality of the tools. - Hardware Key (dongle) If you have a dongle just check the corresponding box during installation: when you run RIDE, the tools will be fully functional when the dongle is plugged in the parallel port, while they will be in demo mode if no dongle is present. - Serial Number If you have chosen your tools to be protected by a Serial Number,

you need to register on Raisonance's website to unlock their full functionality. Registration can be done during installation or afterwards (using the HelpRegistration menu in RIDE). First make sure you enter the Serial Number in RIDE when you are asked. If your PC is connected to Internet, chose the "Register from the web" option: You will be registered automatically. If your PC is not connected to the web, write down carefully the Serial Number and the Serialization Code shown on the screen and use another PC to log on our web site (Support Get Activation Code) and retrieve the Activation Code that will unlock your tools. The Serialization Code depends on your PC and changes every time you re-install, even on the same PC. With your serial number you can by default, get 2 Activation Codes from our web: one is to work and one is in case of emergency (typically when you crash your PC badly and you need to reinstall). When you use the emergency Activation Code we invite you to contact support@raisonance.com explaining what happened, so that we can enable more Activation Codes for you in case you need them. D. Network Installation It is possible to copy the content of the CD on a server and then to install RKIT via network. -----------------------------------------------SECTION 3 How to Get Help or Information -----------------------------------------------A. Please make sure you have spent at least 10 minutes on our website before emailing your questions to us: the answer you are looking for is probably a few clicks away. B.
