Good immune system-> ussualy no symptoms. May range from asymptomatic to invasive intra (dysentery, colitis, amebomas) or extraintestinal (liver abcess, peritonitis, cutaneous) amebiasis. Bloody diarrhea.

La perso na se infecta con el ooquiste esporulado (porque si no esta maduro, no se infecta la persona) y van a pasar por varios estadios de vida y van al intestino y se escretan los ooquistes no esporulados. Se esporulan en el ambiente y otra persona se infecta por la ruta oral. El parasito cuando es escretado, no es infeccioso. Tiene que pasar un tiempo en el ambiente para que esporulen.

Los huevos de cada especie son caractersti cos y se utilizan para diagnstico . Asi que Dx es por huevos en escreta.

Larva ciliada que sale del huevo que excreta el humano es la que llega al caracol y pasa varios estadios dentro del hasta que se libera como cercariae. Luego infecta al humano. Cuando entran al humano y se encuentran, copulan por siempre. Ah es que comienza la sintomatologa porque la deposicin de huevos es la causa mayor de sintomatologa (Ponen 3001000 huevos por pareja por dia! ) . La dosis que la persona adquiera en la infeccin es la enfermedad que va a tener xq los parsitos NO se reproducen dentro del hospedero. S.mansoni pathogenesis: antigenic masking. granulomas (es bn caracteristicoss). Al principio los granulomas son grandes, luego se ponen mas pequenos.
