PERSONAL STATEMENT
1. Foundd in 2005, SCIC is an investment arm of Vietnams government. Its main function is to effectively manage the state capital at state-invested companies and significant projects in various fields on commercial basis. With SCICs 5 years of operation, what are the most remarkable achievements that SCIC have made? State capital Investment Corporation, or SCIC, is the important investment arm of VietNams government. During five years of SCICs operation, it has achieved several remarkable accomplishments. Especially, SCIC manage effectively the state capital at stateinvested companies and crucial projects in various fields on commercial basis. In first SCICs function, SCIC has managed state capital at state invested companies as acceptance state authority on 897 enterprises with 6933 billions of VND. Its before-tax income reached 2445 billions of VND in 2010, increase up 40 percent to 2009. From 2005 to now, SCIC has sold about 789 billions of VND in 334 enterprises and has invested about 2423 billions of VND such as Join Stock Company Vinamilk and Joint Stock Company An Giang Plant Protection. In these projects, the SCIC participates as a financial investor and major investor. Thus SCIC focuses on not only managing and helping these companies make decision quickly but also bringing them to operate effectively. Besides, SCIC has represented state to invest in important commercial basis projects. Total state capital that SCIC represents about 21.518 billions of VND that can enable the corporation to focus on the invest in several crucial projects. Some projects have been promoted effectively, such as that in cooperation with EVN on two hydropower projects in Vinh Son Song Hinh and Thac Ba hydropower Joint Stock Company, in which SCIC holds 24 percents of equity. These projects not only double the corporations investment value but also increase the leading role of state enterprises in the energy sector. Although the above figures and fact are not only a small part of SCICs performer within career five years, they can show out that SCIC has gradually proved its ability to fulfill the role as investment arm of VietNams government. We expect the perfection of SCIC model to continue to achieve more and more accomplishment in future.

My desire is becoming a successful leader such as a manager in Finance. I have started my career path way in Faculty of Baking and Finance in National Economics University but the long steps will be after my University graduation, especially in next five years. My first step after my graduation is to study in America in finance in Master level. With their high reputation and excellences, Emory University and The University of Chicago Booth School of Business are my first priorities. To prepare, I am learning English intensively now and preparing for TOEFL and GMAT Test in this August and next year February. I fully understand that with high scores in those exams, I have many chances to get scholarship to support my study in America. My target is to achieve the score of 105 in TOEFL IBT and 720 in GMAT Test this year. Studying in a famous university in the United State can bring me not only the crucial knowledge in finance but also some important aspects for my future career such as networking and experience. When I finish my study, it is time to begin my second step, which is working life in financial career. With the experience and networking I gain in USA, I plan to apply to a big Vietnamese finance company such as PVFC or SCIC. These companies, with their value of thousands of billion VND, play important roles in VietNams economy. Some people believe that working in the US is more dynamic and interesting than in Viet Nam. But I think that with the annual investment of about forty billions per year and the investment is increasing rapidly every year, VietNam is very potential for financial career, which has just emerge. That will be the best environment for me to apply my knowledge, experience and networking I gained from National Economics University and United State. That is also an ideal ground for me to challenge my self and reach my desire to become a manager in finance such as a CFO of a company in future. I wish you could share with and support me to realize my desire of life.
