Introduction
Endeavour has extensive experience is implementing Mobile Enterprise Application Platforms (MEAP), be it customized MEAP implementation or integration with existing MEAP implementations. MEAP is the most effective strategy for mobilizing enterprise systems and providing reliable data access from a variety of device types. Endeavours Technology Consulting Group has implemented Sybase Unwired Platform, popularly known as SUP, for mobile applications across verticals. This case study details Endeavours expertise & a use case highlighting the mobility initiatives taken by Endeavour with SUP implementation. SUP is one of the most popular enterprise application platforms which simplify the development, deployment and management of mobile, laptop as well as desktop applications. It addresses the difficult challenges of back office integration, secure access for mobile devices and desktop into the enterprise, reliable push data synchronization, and support for multiple devices. Integrate with Afaria device management and security solution to ensure complete security, centrally manage and deploy applications as well as devices. 5. Seamless integration with Enterprise policy. 6. Cost effective system architecture reduces IT infrastructure cost. 7. Accounting and managing 3rd party Content Delivery Network (CDN) system to delivery content, materials and assets worldwide to all sales personnel devices Endeavour has implemented use cases wherein SUP has been integrated with Oracle database as the backend. While in another Endeavour has implemented SAP ERP solution with SQL Server as backend using BAPI interface. One of the use cases is illustrated here.

Endeavours mandate was to develop a virtual mobile briefcase, for the sales force, based on their organizational divisions to gain access to product and pricing information, marketing and training materials, review and rate content worldwide. Additionally, have the ability to access internal tools and applications, create and execute surveys, manage devices and users. Challenges The key objective of Mobile Briefcase is to access the ever green content anytime, anywhere, which is also one of the most critical challenges. The solution should be holistic to support the enterprises current & future mobility needs. Mobile enabling the sales force required secure access to content, tools and applications, completely customizable based on user credentials. Also help conduct surveys, get ratings and feedback for content and so on. The complexity of managing the large sales force and giving them exactly what they need on the move brought in a demand for a technologically advanced middleware. Considering all these aspects for the solution and looking at the Industry acceptance Endeavour recommended the client to opt for Sybase Unwired Platform as it proved to be one of the best options in Middleware technology. Endeavour then implemented following design approaches on the SUP to develop the application. Design Approach on SUP Enterprise Data o Analysis on Enterprise Information Source (EIS) data characteristics o Proper meta data design for MBOs o Configuring and interfacing with BAPI which allows SAP data to integrate with MBO Authentication o Configuring SUP server to authenticate with enterprise AD server Handling Data Traffic o Configuring clustered SUP with Relay server.
