Human Resources: It is with great pleasure that I will be completing my Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education degree in May of 2012 and am now able to pursue a teaching position with your school. With my degree from Nevada State College, I have also earned a TESOL endorsement and will be graduating Magna Cum Laude. I am equipped, eager, and anticipating the opportunity to contribute to the education of the students in the Henderson/Las Vegas valley. My resume is enclosed for your review. The experiences Ive had in and outside of the classroom have prepared me well for the Elementary Teaching position that I am seeking. I will complete my student teaching requirement in CCSD on May 2nd, where I have established an excellent rapport with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. As part of my course work for Nevada State College, I completed 120 hours of field experience in CCSD classrooms. During that time, I spent many hours tutoring at Title I schools to provide additional instruction time to at-risk students. To benefit the greater community of educators and my professional development, I currently serve as the President of the local chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an International Honor Society in Education. I am also a Guest Teacher for Clark County School District. As a mother of three school-aged children and the spouse of a veteran teacher, I understand benefits of communication and partnership with parents/guardians and I look forward to collaborating with my students familial support system to provide my students with a community approach to learning. Each of these experiences has been instrumental in my personal growth, professional development, and philosophy of pedagogy. It is my goal to continue serving the learning community of elementary students in our district for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year. In hiring me, you will gain a teacher who cares about the needs of each learner, who pursues excellence, who will work tirelessly to exceed the standards set before her. I am a forever student and fully anticipate all I can learn from being a full-time educator. I cannot wait to facilitate the discovery of knowledge for the next generation of learners. I look forward to speaking with you soon. Professionally yours,
Stacy L. Carpenter
