LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. made a re-entry into the laptop segment by launching 13 notebooks in India at prices ranging from INR 26,000 to INR 66,780 and is available at leading retail outlets. The company also introduced a 3D laptop, the LG A530. The new range of notebooks boasts higher battery life, light weight, scratch resistance and an impeccable external finish. The company plans to launch the tablet in the Indian market by the second quarter of 2012. The company's IT division is eyeing a 15% growth in revenue terms and has targeted a INR 10 billion revenue by 2012. During 2011, the company expects to achieve revenue of INR 8.6 billion.

LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. is planning an INR 20,000 million expansion at its Ranjangaon facility near Pune. The company has approached the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) for about 200 acres at Ranjangaon. At the expanded facility the company will continue to produce its present line of products such as LCDs, TVs, air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines and mobile phones.

LG Electronics India Pvt. Ltd. provided earnings guidance for the year 2011. The company expects to maintain its growth and does not see any impact of the difficult economic condition on the consumer durables industry and also hopes to maintain top line growth. The company was looking at a top line of INR 200 billion in this calendar year compared with INR 160 billion it achieved in 2010. This year, the company will see a 22% to 23% growth compared to previous year growth of around 24%-25%, and the company expects to cover up this gap and maintain growth.
