Glossary of Terms CH - Charter: Preformed group (organization, association, church, school, etc.) that hires a motorcoach for its exclusive use. LRO - Local Receptive Operator: Company that provides some or all of the components of a tour or charter, including step-on guides and sightseeing. Many specialize in services for incoming visitors, such as meeting them at the airport or

train station and transporting them to their hotel. PE - Package Express: Provides regular, point-to-point package delivery service. SB - School Bus: Primary vehicle for transporting students between home and school. SCH - Scheduled Service: Specified, predetermined regular-route service between cities or terminals. SP - Special Operations: Private motorcoaches used to enhance public transportation systems, for example, commuter and/or airport service. Special operations also include published, regular-route service to special events such as sporting events or to casinos. SS - Sightseeing: Service offered by motorcoach or tour companies to view points of interest within a specified area. TA - Travel Agency: Provides retail travel agency services to the public and has IATA number. TR - Tour: Planned or prearranged trip offered for sale by a motorcoach or tour company at a fixed price to travelers. Price usually includes lodging, meals, sightseeing, and transportation.
