MW600 Driver

viktorkw 1 posts since Jun 16, 2010

I have purchased the MW600 headset using with my PC.

My PC is running Window 7.

When I pairing with the MW600, the window keep asking for the driver.

There is no driver coming with the packing.

I cannot search any driver available in Sony's web site.

Does any body come across this problem? Where to find the right driver for Window 7?

I wonder why Sony's web site does not any software download for the headset they supply.

Hi all,

I've recently bought a MW600 for my X10. I'm trying to use it with my laptop too. But it says that a driver is missing. I also saw in some pictures that the MW600 displays clock from the paired device. I don't see the clock time displayed on my MW600 when it paired with my X10 or my laptop. Regards,

I agree - where is the Windows 7 driver for this device (MW600) and why will Sony Ericsson not reply to these questions????

Very poor form!

"where is the Windows 7 driver for this device (MW600)" - not right

where is the MW600 device driver for Windows 7? - that right

Right, there is no Win7 driver from SE for MW600. And presumably will not be. Support told me that they do not support 3rd party systems (windows 7).

However, you should install BlueSoleil for windows 7 from here http://www.bluesoleil.com/ or other links and it will allow you to use MW as a stereo bluetooth headphones or a mono bluetooth hands free with a microphone.

It worked for me, while the solution from post below, mentioning Lenovo drivers did not work for my configuration. I use Windows 7 32 bit.

Good luck.

Yes. WIN seven OS didn't provide drivers. Can try to install IVT operates bluetooth desktop software, it should provide support.

Just bought one of those and was dismayed to discover that it didn't work with my laptop because Win7 doesn't have a driver for it.

Windows did, however, give me 3 possible action center solutions to choose from. It suggested I needed an updated adapter driver, as well as one for the device. One sent me off to Broadcom, the other to Lenovo. I downloaded the broadcom driver which looked like it was going to work, but the most I could get out of it was standard hands-free which produced phone quality audio, which sucked.

I uninstall it all and tried the lenovo driver and voila! Everything working, Media Player track name is displayed on the OLED screen, I can play/pause etc - fabulous. At the time of writing the only thing I have left to test is a simultaneous connection to my phone so I can handle calls while listening to music on my laptop.

'ere be the driver that works, and seems to include both 32bit and 64bit software:

MW600 Driver

Once you have installed the necessary software, as I mentioned above, you can esablish a connection to your PC. However I found that it wouldn't keep the connection open, for some reason, unless I opened "Bluetooth Devices" and double clicked on the headset in order to specifically tell it to connect to the headset. I then found that if closed the window after connection it would immediately drop the connection for no apparent reason. Keeping the window open after connecting maintains the connection indefinitely, so that's what I did.

Of course you need to tell the headset to use the paired PC as the 'media' device otherwise it won't actually do anything. In my case I set it to use the PC as the media source and the phone as the phone source, so in theory it will stop sound from the PC and switch control to the phone when I make or receive a call.

Once you have the sustained connection to the headset, it's just a case of telling Skype to use the Bluetooth device as speakers and microphone in Tools -> Options -> Audio Settings.

That's basically what I needed to do. It's fundementally dependent on the initial bluetooth connection to the PC, AND the discovered of the headset's support of A2DP etc. If you don't get that, as I didn't before installing the Lenovo software (and even when I installed the Broadcom stuff) it only finds the hands-free profile and thus produces very low quality audio.

Hope that helps.

I have a Microsoft BT transceiver and running the MW600 with it as a communication device for skype and phone calls, and as stereo-earplugs for movie and music.

What I did was simply to download the Broadcom BT software for Windows 7, install and reboot. After which scan for the device and voila, it will work easily.

i too also had this problem and stopped trying to find a driver for my PC and cancelled the rest of the install and my headset works ok with my computer (vista) and only have used it for listening to music, however there is no track ID via Windows Media Player or through my x10 mini pro

yet another half hearted attempt by SE i am really having thoughts about going to another company after 15 years of using SE products

I recently bought the mw600 headset for use with my phones and laptops.

I have two celphones and two laptops that I want to pair the headphones with. The first phone (a gps phone) was a breeze and no issue in pairing. The other three devices cannot even see/detect this headphone as a BT device. The phone in question is a SE W350a and the laptops are a Lenovo Vista SP2 (32bit) and a HP Windows 7 (64bit). The phone and the laptops on previous occasions have detected all motorola BT headphones without any issues.

Any help please? None of the drivers seem to solve the issue for me but maybe I am doing something wrong?

I cannot connect with either my windows 7 64 bit or blackberry bold 9700. When it works with my wife's Sony Ericsson phone, the sound is great. Unfortunately, Sony Ericsson does not give list of compatible phones (other than their's) or compatible operating system. I am returning the product.

OK, the MW600 finally paired with all devices- I wasnt doing the pairing right. However issues remainingg are:

1. I cannot use the MW600 to talk- or record my sound on the Windows 7 pc. 2. The moment I try to connect the BT headphones to the Windows VIsta Sp2 machine, the pc shuts down after the dreaded blue screen!

Any solutions?

I called SonyEricsson support and they told me that I have to download driver from my Pc manufactures homepage (got a HP Elitebook 2530P). They explained to me that usually dont ship the computers with a full set of drivers for bluetooth in windows 7. Went to download page for HP and found a bluetooth driver and download and installed it and right away the headset started to work with the computer.

I've found a way to fix this :

1. update your lap top's bluetooth drvier with the latest one (in my case i've got the latest from the HP driver site)

2. after the installation is complete connect your MW600 and let it install all of it;s features

3. it will say it's not fully installed , click finish and than go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers\ Properties on the Mw600 Icon and select SERVICES from the tab and uncheck the SEMC HLA and OK

It worked fine for me , audio headset , handsfree , control etc

HP lap top , win 7 pro 64 bit
