Teacher Effectiveness Measure (TEM): Summative Process

TEM Student Perception Options There are multiple layers of TEM-aligned support available for teachers. School level support Your principal is the first line of support and will provide guidance around which school-level support is the best fit for your specific needs. Regional support Regional support teams have developed TEM-aligned support. Regional support options will be made available to you so that you and your principal can determine which regional-level support is the right fit for your professional needs. District support Professional Development and Staff In-service offerings are available in AVATAR and in the TEM-aligned Teacher Resource Guide, found here http://www.mcsk12.net/aoti/pd/docs/Resource%20guide%2011-11.pdf . You and your principal can determine which courses are appropriate, based on your TEM Summative profile. Department of Teacher Talent and Effectiveness support offerings are listed here: TEM Student Perception Support Options General Support TEM Deep Dive Student Perception Survey AVATAR Code 12254.14488 This session is designed specifically to enable a depth of knowledge required for enacting the teacher moves necessary to impact student perception scores. TEM 5 teachers will share specific strategies to increase understanding and effectiveness in each of the Tripod 7 Cs.

Personal Support Understanding Your TEM Score TRIPOD DATA AVATAR Code 12247.14481 Participants will have the opportunity to receive individualized support based on the Student Perception score of his or her TEM Summative profile. The TRIPOD survey is administered to students in order to gather insights about their classroom experiences. Survey questions focus on specific observable teaching practices to limit the impact of any subjective student opinions. Participants in this session will receive an overview of the TRIPOD survey to understand how TEM levels are calculated and how the Tripod correlates to the TEM observation TEACH and Classroom learning Environment domains. Teachers will be able to ask specific questions about data on their individualized TEM Summative report. Specific strategies to improve scores will be shared.

This cycle of support prepares teachers for the up-coming school year, by enabling teachers to authentically apply new learning. The cycle of support includes No-Nonsense Nurturer classroom management re-orientation; assistance with planning highly-effective lessons, start to finish, employing all four TEM 2.0 Teaching and Learning domains; Great Teaching, Great Feedback video feedback system; real-time coaching; access to Reflect video-capture system for personal reflection; and participation in peer collaboration network. Based on individual teacher success, future cycles of support will be differentiated to meet individual teacher needs.
