Group of Liberties for Development and Human Rights

It is a civil non-governmental, independent and non-profit organization founded by Human Rights activists and those who are interested in humanitarian and social work, as well as human rights issues, democracy and peace. This group is concerned in defending human rights in coordination with Amnesty International, and other organizations that support the protection of regional and local Human Rights, and also establishing research and studies that relate to human rights and democracy.

Vision:The group intends to play a leading role in human development and humanitarian, cultural, political, intellectual, social, and political culture. Also promoting and spreading human rights in society and working to raise awareness of cultural policy; defend, and publicize it.

Message:The group of Liberties is an independent and impartial, open-ended, and completes the march of Human Rights organizations as set in the Charter of the United Nations human rights, to form civil associations that will contribute to and aim to ensure the development of human rights and human values that preserve and maintain the dignity and freedoms of citizens; guided by the principles of the rule of law, transparency, tolerance, equality, justice, equity, and non-discrimination, freedom of equality and equal opportunities in employment and decent living. The group also pursues the moral standards in accordance to the international humanitarian charters. It begins the pursuit of its vision and policies with an open to the international community and flexible in consolidating local international relations; attracting events and promoting the concepts of citizenship and human rights.

Constitution:It is evident that our country and the region is going through a major shift towards democracy and the building of civil societies based on pluralism, freedoms, and human rights which contributes to integral work to achieve common prosperity in the march of men towards international peace. This requires our solidarity to support the steps that seek to develop human society in its socio-cultural and political aspect.; that is aside to human rights which we consider to be most important and the key to peace, freedom, and respect. Also the assistance of NGOs included to avoid tribal and ethnic conflicts in trying to promote human rights culture in all its aspects.

Our group is also working together with colleague organizations in interdependence and solidarity to work on spreading the human rights culture and the definition of the laws and charters of human rights through workshops, seminars, and lectures for all classes and segments of society, focusing on respect of the freedoms of citizens guaranteed by law.

Objectives of the Group:1Cultural awareness of the promotion of economic, social and cultural rights. 2Raising awareness of the defence of civil and political rights. 3Promote the principles of equality and justice in the rights and duties. 4Going against torture and forcible detention, bringing justice and opposing random death penalties. 5Disallowing racial discrimination in the enjoyment of natural rights and freedoms and opposing violence based on race. 6Strengthen the freedoms of citizenship and freedom of opinion and the principles of pluralism (political-cultural). 7Strengthen the impartiality of the judiciary and call for eligibility of litigation and the integrity of the justice system. 8Spreading of main principles of freedom and democracy that will build an integrated community. 9Establishing the values of justice, democracy and human rights.

Strategy:1-Fight the individual human rights violations. 2-Providing aid to human rights activists, and defending them in coordination with sponsors and assisting them in promoting freedoms and human rights. 3-Following-up legislation issues linked to human rights. 4-Promoting the human rights understanding and respect. 5-Monitoring and following up on what can cause violation of freedom and human rights. 6-Setting up alerting campaigns of human rights and freedoms. 7-Upholding human rights. 8-Studying and issuing bulletins and publications related to human development and human rights. 9-Provide statistical, scientific information for declarations, international conventions, special regional development, and human rights. 10-Cooperating with scientific bodies, institutions, and organizations concerned with human rights to consult, and benefits from their experience. 11-Try to create an environment of democratic dialogue, coordination and integration between the efforts of all human rights organizations concerned with human rights, to build a state of law and humanitarian democratic society. 12-Show special attention to children, women, and people with special needs and victims of war, torture, and enable them to participate in the life and decision-making process.

13-Scientifically contributing in the process and review of legislation, laws, and put forward offers relevant to laws and international conventions of human rights.

Overall structure of the group:According to the meeting, it was decided to build the following structure:1General Manager of the group. 2Deputy Director 3Executive Director of the group. 4Office of Administrative and Financial Affairs. 5The Public Relations Office. 6An Office to Monitor and follow-up issues of rights and violations. 7Office of Information and Documentation. 8Office of Welfare and Social Affairs and Women, children, those with special needs, disabilities, drug addiction, and AIDS patients. 9Office of Studies and Research and Publications 10- Technical support office. 11- Legal Office for managing issues related to human rights and freedoms, and following up with official authorities. 12- Advisory Office. The Liberties for development and human rights group gains its funding from grants, donations, funding, and donations whether its from individuals or associations and what the state offers as a budget to support the institutions of civil society. Grants are accepted only if its not conditional and its goals do not conflict with the goals of the institution. The executive manager of the group manages the financial resources of the group in accordance with the provisions of the statute and internal regulations of the group. Group funds shall be deposited in a one bank account or more by the name of the group and may not be disposed of only by the General Director or his representative, and a written notice issued by the Board of Directors. It is not permitted to use the money of the group in other than the purposes set forth in the statute for Liberties for Development and Human Rights, and may not be of any member anyone else to get any advantage from these funds. Nor is it permissible for any member to benefit from this money through purposes unrelated to the activity of Liberties of Development and Human Rights.
