Shadow Puppet Play Script!!

Narrator: This story takes place in a small town in Quebec, called Dalhousie, this story is about a hockey team that has never won before, until now In puppet form Coach: Okay, guys, lets go and practise! J.J: And so starts another season of endless losing Jean-Mark: Oh, come on J.J, give yourself a chance! J.J: Weve lost over 3 seasons in a row, do you think we can win!? Jean-Mark: Well you have to be optimistic, come on, theyre starting the drills. Narrator: Their team was called the Dalhousie Ducks and they had no idea that this year, something would happen to their team that they would call a miracle, it would be wonderful. In human form Coach: All right, lets play a game between ourselves, J.J, and Chris, youre captains, go pick teams. Narrator: They flipped a coin to see who would pick first, J.J, always picked first because he always got the answer right. J.J: Frank Chris: Jeff J.J: Dan Chris: R.J J.J: Jean-Mark Chris: Eric J.J: Yasal Chris: Keith J.J: Sam, youre goalie Chris: Adam, youre goalie, get another shutout!! In puppet form

Narrator: The puck was dropped, and the game started, and after 30 min, Chris emerged triumphant, not getting a shutout, but satisfied. The game ended with a score of 7-3. Coach: Good game, guys! You should play like that in the real games! Good luck out there tomorrow! Narrator: The first game was tomorrow, and they had no idea what would happen there. Sun sets and rises in puppet form In human form Frank: Here we go! Get ready! J.J: Get ready for what? A loss? Chris: Yeah, but at least try! Narrator: Jeff, who always brought a lively air into the dressing room, spoke up. Jeff: Come on, guys, dont argue, were not going to win if you guys dont cooperate! Coach: All right, guys, this is a tough team for us but we know their strategies, so lets show them what we got! All: YEAH!! Narrator: The Dalhousie Ducks were facing the St. John Savages, they were a good team and had won the tournament 2 years ago. The puck was dropped and the game started, the Savages scored 2 goals in less then 4 min into the game, but the Ducks fought back, scoring 5 goals before time was up. The game ended, 5-2, Ducks Adam: Wow! What happened? Jeff: See? I told you to be positive! J.J: I dont think its that, I felt a sudden rush of energy as I went in to score the second goal Chris: Me too! Its like The Force is with us! Keith: No matter what, we won our first game in 2 years!! Coach: Come on! 1, 2, 3 All: Go Ducks!!! In Chris dreams Chris dreamed him holding the tournament champion cup, as captain of the team, he received the cup and held it up high, proudly In human form

Chris: You wont believe what I dreamed yesterday! Frank: Did you dream about winning the tournament? Chris: How did you know?! Frank: I had the same dream!!! Jeff: I dreamt about winning the tournament last night!!! Chris and Frank: ME TOO!!! Jeff: Wow! Maybe we will really win the tournament! Coach: Cmon! Lets warm up and win our second game!! The trio runs off In puppet form Narrator: And so the second game started, it was the Dalhousie Ducks against the Brampton Bears, the Bears had ended up 30th place in last years series, while the Ducks placed 41st. Coach: Cmon guys we beat the Savages yesterday, we can beat the bears today! All: Go Ducks!! Referee: Ready, set, PLAY!! Narrator: And the game started! Frank: Pass, J.J! Pass!! Narrator: J.J passed, but it was a weak one and it was intercepted by a Brampton player who scored! The crowd cheered, the Ducks werent at home but they were at Brampton. Jean-Mark drove forward Jean-Mark: He shoots, he scores!!! HONK!!! Narrator: 5 min later, Keith scored the winning goal, Coach called a time out and told them to play defence. They did and brought the game to a standstill, neither team scoring a goal. The game ended, 2-1, Ducks. Narrator #2: Dalhousie is a very small town, soon, this headline was in the newspapers, Ducks Quack it up, Winning 2 Games in a ROW! Human form Narrator #2: The next time at practise, the Ducks were in a midst of chatter, they had each felt some sort of force pushing them on. 3

Coach: Whats all the chatter about? Jeff: Its like magic! Weve never won before, and now, suddenly, we win 2 games!! Narrator #2: The Ducks mumbled in agreement. Coach: Anyway, were facing the toughest team ever tomorrow, if we win, were the champions, signed and sealed. Narrator #2: Dan, who usually was a quiet person, spoke up. Dan: Who is it? Coach: Its the Toronto Tigers!!! Narrator #2: Frank gasped, Jeff groaned, Dan squealed, R.J stared into space, Jean-Mark almost screamed, Erics jaw dropped, Yasal, almost fainted, Keith gulped, Sam yelped and Adam coughed. The whole team was in shock, except Chris and J.J, finally Yasal broke the silence Yasal: Well, lets get practicing. Sun sets and rises in puppet form Narrator #2: The next day, everyone was at their home rink warming up early, soon, the Torontonians arrived and started warming up with them. The coaches shook hands and the game began. Referee: 3,2,1PLAY!!! Narrator #2: The Tigers scored no less than 4 goals in the first period, and it was 4-0, Tigers. J.J: Pass! Narrator #2: Eric passed to J.J and J.J scores!! J.J: He drives down the middle, dodges an enemy player and SCORES!!! THE CROWD GOES WILD!!! Narrator #2: Later, Chris went around the side and pushed the puck in with his stick and the buzzer went off, signalling the goal. 10 min later, Frank takes a slap shot from the side and it goes right through the net! Frank: He shoots! HE SCORES!!!! Narrator #2: Dan scored an amazing goal after Franks slap shot. Dan: Pass up front!! Narrator #2: He got the puck and he tried to shoot, but he tripped, he still managed to shoot a weak shot past the Toronto goalie, the score was now tied, 4-4. Later, with 55 seconds left in the game, Yasal passed to Frank before he tripped and went into the boards, Frank passed to J.J, who then passed to Eric who drove in to hit the post,

Chris got the rebound and shot it in for the winning goal!!! There were 19 seconds left in the game! The final score was 5-4, Ducks. Chris: YEAHHH!!! Narrator #2: J.J did an imitation of the commenter at the 2010 final game Canada vs. USA. J.J: He shoots, it comes off the post! Its Chris puck, he shoots, and he scores!!! The golden goal!! Its GOLD for the Ducks! Hes done it! After 3 yrs of defeat the Ducks have RISEN!!! Narrator #2: They held the cup just like in theyre dreams, they WON!!
