Why do you choose those committee and what can you contribute to

your assigned committee if you are chosen?

I choose General Assembly as my first preference because we, as global citizens, have a responsibility to promote a culture of peace, and resolve differences without resorting to conflict. Based on the quote: The ideal of free human beings enjoying civil and political freedom and freedom from fear and want can only be achieved if conditions are created whereby everyone may enjoy his civil and political rights, as well as his social, economic and cultural rights. International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic Social and Cultural Rights, 1966 I choose UNFCC as my second preference because the idea is about human survival. The issue at hand is climate change, and it has literally and figuratively taken every corner of our world by storm. People are increasingly aware that this environmental threat could be the defining issue of our time. We, as younger generations, possess the clarity, the vision and the imperative to help save this planet.

If Im chosen by the committee, I will make commitments to do: 1. Reflect and get inspired : what I need to offer. 2. Identify and get informed : expand the knowledge on the many different angles I can take to explore and interact with a global issue. 3. Lead and get others involved : bring about change in out communities on this global issue. 4. Get connected : develop my skills to create lasting change on a global issue and get directly involved in our community with the global issue of our choice. 5. Plan and get moving : take action on a global issue. 6. Have a lasting impact : create meaningful and sustainable change with the help and support of our community.

What qualifies you to be a delegate in JMUN 2012? (200 words)

Take a moment to reflect on the world around me. Think about the things I know, the things Im not quite sure of, and all the things I have already experienced when exploring the many ways the global issue have impacted my life. Hence, this program is the good way I can use to interact and share all about the global issue. However, I do really passionate about the global issues because they impact what happens today and what we will face tomorrow. Im interested in connecting with other young people throughout the world to learn more about how to reduce poverty, raise awareness about world war, do part to slow down climate change, and speak out against global injustice. I will have the opportunity to get a quick and informative snap shot of a global issue, which will serve as the basis for our future exploration and engagement with issues of global concern. I also will learn about the many different action tools I can use to take action on a specific global issue. For example, I can held conference to share about the global issue, create a petition, make a commitment for a better world, or learn how to start our own community project on a global issue of our choice. Here's the chance to build the skills I need to take action and make a difference in my community and in our world. In the end, this is a challenge for myself to begin the journey with insight and collaboration through inspiring and engaging in intercultural dialogues with the goal of making the change we want to see together
