GAME DESCRIPTION ******************************************************************************** Cars - Radiator Springs Adventures is a series of activities based upon the characters and locations within Radiator Springs. Completing these activities allows the player to enter (and hopefully win) the Radiator Springs Legends Race. The player will need to defeat all 10 opponents to become the Champ of Radiator Springs. ******************************************************************************** 2. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ******************************************************************************** Before installing the game you should make sure that your PC or MAC meets the following hardware and software minimum requirements: PC: Operating System: Win 98 / ME / 2000 / XP CPU Speed: 1.0GHz (1.4GHz or higher recommended) Memory: 256MB RAM (512MB RAM or higher recommended) Video Card: 32MB RAM (64MB or higher recommended) CD-ROM: 8X Sound: 16-bit Sound Blaster Compatible HD Space: 500MB Mouse MAC: MAC OS X 10.3, G4 1.2 GHz, 256 Mb RAM, GeForce2 or Radeon7500 ******************************************************************************** 4. INSTALLING AND UNINSTALLING THE GAME ********************************************************************************

To install the game on the PC, please follow the following steps: 1. Insert the game disc into your CD-ROM drive. 2. If you have the Auto insert notification feature enabled for your CD-ROM, simply left click on the install game and skip steps 3 & 4. 3. Left click on the Start Button on the Windows Task Bar then select Run from the Start Menu. 4. Type D:autorun (D refers to your CD-ROM drive. If your CD-ROM drive is not D, please type the appropriate drive letter). Now click on the install button. 5. After installation is complete, you will find an icon under the START Menu in the THQ \ CARS \ RADIATOR SPRINGS ADVENTURES folder. You may uninstall the game by using the Add/Remove Programs under the Control Panel or from the Start Menu within the game folder there will be icon to uninstall the game. To install the game on the MAC, please follow the following steps: 1. Insert the game disc into your CD-ROM drive. 2. When the CD icon opens, double-click it to open the folder. 3. Double-click the CARS MAC OSX INSTALLER icon to begin the installation. ******************************************************************************** 5. TECHNICAL NOTES AND TROUBLESHOOTING ******************************************************************************** Please make sure you have the latest drivers for your video/sound card. Check the card manufacturer's website for driver updates. ATI - www.ati.com Matrox - www.matrox.com NVIDIA - www.nvidia.com Known Issues (VIDEO) -------------------1. HP Pavilion 8495 OEM drivers running Windows 98 causes issues in the game. To correct this problem please contact your hardware manufacturer for the latest drivers. 2. There are known performance, sound and graphic issues when using an nVidia nForce audio/video card. Please contact your hardware manufacturer for the latest drivers. 3. There are known graphic corruption issues related to the following video cards: -ATi Rage128VR, Rage Fury MAXX, Rage IIc, 2D Rage Pro Turbo 2X -ATi Radeon, All in Wonder 128, Xpert 2000 -ATi Radeon 7200, 7500, 8500 -Intel 82810 -Matrox G200, G450, G550 -Diamond Viper 770 -Asus AGP-V6800 -GeForce 256 -Elsa Erazor III UPDATING to the MOST RECENT VIDEO DRIVERS from the manufacturer website, will solve most video problems related to this game. 4. There are known graphic issues when using ATI built Radeon 7200, 7500, or 8500 video cards as well as the NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP8X

video card with the latest drivers. If graphic issues occur, press Alt+Tab to back out of the program and Alt+Tab again to resume your game. 5. If the game does not function after it is installed, check your video card installation in your system settings to make sure that a video driver is installed for your video card in your computer. 6. This game requires you to at least have DirectX version 9.0 or higher. It is recommended that you restart your computer upon installing or upgrading to DirectX 9.0. Known Issues (AUDIO) -------------------7. Audio may not function properly on some sound cards, such as Analog Devices SoundMax, Sound Blaster Audigy 2, nVidia nForce NV-420D and nVidia nForce audio cards. Updating to the most recent audio drivers for your card or chipset will solve most audio issues related to this game. 8. If the game does not work properly or ceases to function after pausing and resuming the game, turn your Audio performance to Basic by doing the following: From the desktop, open Control Panel> Multimedia> Audio> Advanced Properties> Performance and set the slider to Basic. 9. There are known issues when using the SoundBlaster Audigy 2 NX and certain USB ports. Please try different USB ports on your machine if you experience any problems. Known Issues (OTHER) -------------------10. Windows states that disabling virtual memory is "not recommended" and "may adversely affect system performance". If you find that your computer is not loading the selected level, the game sound effects and music are distorted and/or the game is not functioning properly, please make sure that virtual memory is enabled. 11. There are known issues when running this game with insufficient hard disk space. Please make sure that you have 500MB available on your hard disk before playing the game. Please refer to section 3 (System Requirements) for more information. 12. If the game does not work properly or ceases to function while multitasking between opening Quicktime Player at the same time as playing this game, quit both Quicktime Player and the game, and then restart the game. 13. On some systems, performance is slower when Quicktime is running or is in the System tray. Closing QuickTime 6 or the Quicktime tray manager (qttask.exe) will return the game to normal speed. 14. The game requires Virtual Memory to be turned ON to function properly in Windows XP. 15. Uninstalling the game will remove all saved games except for Limited Access Users on Windows XP. 16. Net Messaging will interrupt gameplay. To disable net messaging, follow these directions. WARNING - Disabling Windows Messenger service will block any Administrator messages sent on a local server. To disable

Windows messaging, you must be logged in to an Administrator account on Windows. To disable Windows messaging in Windows XP Home/Pro: 1. From the desktop, right click on the My Computer icon and select Manage. 2. In Computer Management, click on the '+' next to Services and Applications, then double-click on Services. 3. Scroll down the list that open in frame to the right, and highlight Messenger. 4. Click on the "Stop the service" link to turn messenger off. To disable Windows messaging in Windows 2000: 1. From the desktop, right click on the My Computer icon and select Manage. 2. In Computer Management, click on the '+' next to Services and Applications, then double-click on Services. 3. Scroll down the list that open in frame to the right, and highlight Messenger. 4. Double-click on Messenger and select Disable from the "Startup Type" drop down menu 17. During gameplay, the "Windows Logo" keyboard button will cause the game to minimize. To restore normal gameplay, just click on the game item in the toolbar. 18. Using ALT+TAB repeatedly may cause the game to become unstable. 19. If you are playing this game with 128MB of RAM and the game becomes unstable, you should try upgrading your system memory to 256MB of RAM or higher. 20. There are known issues with the Samsung SD-616 DVD Drive and the Sony CDU5221 while playing FMV's from the CD. 21. If the recording med ium is found defective within 90 days of original purchase, THQ agrees to replac e, free of charge, any product discovered to be defective within such period upo n its receipt of the product, postage paid, with proof of the date of purchase, as long as the Software is still being manufactured by THQ. In the event that t he Software is no longer available, THQ retains the right to substitute a simila r Software of equal or greater value. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PROVIDED HEREIN, THQ'S AND IT S LICENSORS ENTIRE LIABILITY TO YOU AND YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY BREACH OF T HIS AGREEMENT IS LIMITED SOLELY TO THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE SOFTWARE , IF ANY. BECAUSE SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABIL ITY FOR CERTAIN DAMAGES, IN SUCH STATES THQ'S AND ITS LICENSORS LIABILITY IS LIMI TED TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. 11. INJUNCTION. Because THQ would be irreparably damaged if the terms of thi s License Agreement were not specifically enforced, you agree that THQ shall be entitled, without bond, other security or proof of damages, to appropriate equit able remedies with respect to breaches of this Agreement, in addition to such ot her remedies as THQ may otherwise have under applicable laws. 12. INDEMNITY. At THQ's request, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold har mless THQ, its subsidiaries, affiliates, contractors, officers, directors, emplo yees, agents, licensors, licensees, distributors, developers, content providers, and other users of the Software, from all damages, losses, liabilities, claims and expenses, including attorneys' fees, arising directly or indirectly from you r acts and omissions to act in using the Software pursuant to the terms of this License Agreement or any breach of this License Agreement by you. THQ reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of an y matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you hereunder, and in such even t, you shall have no further obligation to provide indemnification for such matt er. 13. U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS. The Software and documentation have b een developed entirely at private expense and are provided as "Commercial Comput er Software" or "restricted computer software." Use, duplication or disclosure b y the U.S. Government or a U.S. Government subcontractor is subject to the restr ictions set forth in subparagraph (c)(1)(ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer Software clauses in DFARS 252.227-7013 or as set forth in subparagraph (c)(1) and (2) of the Commercial Computer Software Restricted Rights clauses at FAR 52.227-19, as applicable. Without prejudice to any other rights of THQ, this License Agreement and your right to use the Software may automatically terminate without notice from THQ if you fail to comply with any provision of this Agreement or a ny terms and conditions associated with the Software. In such event, you must d estroy all copies of this Software and all of its component parts. 15. GENERAL PROVISIONS. You may not use, copy, modify, sublicense, rent, sel

l, assign or transfer the rights or obligations granted to you in this Agreement , except as expressly provided in this Agreement. Any assignment in violation of this Agreement is void, except that you may transfer your Software to another p erson provided that person accepts the terms of this License Agreement. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be unenforceable for any reason, such pro vision shall be reformed only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable, an d such decision shall not affect the enforceability of: (i) such provision under other circumstances, or (ii) the remaining provisions hereof under all circumst ances. THQ's failure to enforce at any time any of the provisions of this Agreem ent shall in no way be construed to be a present or future waiver of such provis ions, nor in any way affect the right of any party to enforce each and every suc h provision thereafter. The express waiver by THQ of any provision, condition or requirement of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of any future oblig ation to comply with such provision, condition or requirement. Notwithstanding a nything else in this Agreement, no default, delay or failure to perform on the p art of THQ shall be considered a breach of this Agreement if such default, delay or failure to perform is shown to be due to causes beyond the reasonable contro l of THQ. This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Californi a and the United States without regard to its conflicts of laws rules and you co nsent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in Los Angel es County, California. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the Intern ational Sale of Goods shall not apply to this Agreement.
