Specialist Environmental Services in Dubai, U.A.E.

Project proponents or owners of industrial premises may require the service of environmental consultants, engineers or laboratories to carry out some specialist works that are required by the Environment Department in applying the requirements of Local Order No. 61/1991 on the Environmental Protection Regulations in the Emirate of Dubai. The Environment Protection and Safety Section (EPSS) under the Environment Department of Dubai Municipality has prepared a short list of companies who had record of relevant works, commissioned for the private and government sectors, in the field of ecological studies, conservation of wildlife, environmental protection and waste management The following list is produced based on the current records at EPSS. The list is not exhaustive. It is dynamic and will be updated every six (6) months or as required. It is aimed primarily at assisting the owner of industrial premises or project proponents who may wish to engage specialist service in complying with the environmental regulations of the Emirate. Let it be known to all parties that there is neither implied recommendation nor restriction to any of the companies on this list nor against other licensed companies not on this list to carry out specialist services. However, EPSS regularly update this list to reflect the latest performance related to their respective fields of expertise. Project owners seeking consultant services should also consult the yellow pages, the web or other sources of information. The list of companies offering services on environmental engineering and relevant specialist studies is given in Table 2; the list of accredited testing laboratories in Dubai is in Table 3. NOTE: 1. Companies on this list must update their relevant records semi-annually. In this respect, each must submit a Report to the DM Environment Department with the following: Concise description of each new relevant project commissioned or involved with in Dubai Concise description of each new relevant project commissioned or involved with in UAE Concise description of each new relevant project commissioned or involved with in the GCC region Curriculum Vitae (CV) of each expert staff available in Dubai and who are residents of UAE Copy of valid License issued by the Economic Department of the Emirate of Dubai or any other concerned Licensing Authority in UAE. 2. The Report shall be in either MSWord or PDF format in a CD, and must be available at DM st Environment Department by November 1 and June 1st. 3. Approved "Scope of Services" (Refer to Table 1) will be deleted from any Company that have not carried out such service for the last 12 months and in the absence of relevant CV from its team of experts. 4. Any Company that failed to carry out any single relevant project in Dubai or in UAE or failed to secure a valid license from the Economic Department will be deleted from the list in the next update. 5. Next update of this list will be on January 2009 or as deemed necessary. 6. Unlisted specialist Company that may wish for inclusion on this List must submit to the DM Environment Department the following documents: Letter request with the list of specialization (as categorized in Table 1, page 1 of this Bulletin) being requested for inclusion in the List. Company profile with the List of specialist staff who are available in Dubai, with their respective CV Copy of Trade/Industrial/Professional License from the Economic Department List, dates and details of relevant projects undertaken by the Company in the fields of specialization in UAE and in the GCC Countries which are ongoing or have been completed within the last 12 months.
