Do you remember the television series, The Love Boat? The people on the cruise ship could sit and eat, sit and eat, and sit and eat. If your idea of church is like that, then we will become spiritually out of shape people and eventually the ship will sink. Church should be more like a life boat than a love boat. God has called us to be a rescue crew searching for those without Christ. What Ive discovered is a life boat makes the best kind of love boat. Once again we are blessed with an excellent graduating class. We have sought to provide them with a spiritual foundation to build upon. Jesus said those who hear my words and do them are like wise builders. Hearing the gospel is not enough, we must also obey. Joseph Stalin executed over 40,000 people a month at the height of his power in the Soviet Union. Yet, as a boy he attended a Christian school and studied to become a priest. Graduated, I am proud of your accomplishment. By trusting in Christ and following His words you are promised a life that blesses you and others. Fourth graders were asked to complete some common proverbs. Here are the five I enjoyed: The journey of 1000 miles begins...with an airplane. Better late...then absent from class. A rolling stone...will scratch the floor. A penny saved...isnt very much. Two heads...are pretty scary. Ill see you Sunday,

Pray for Lauren Klepac This summer Lauren will be traveling to Southeast Asia for 8 weeks with an IMB ministry called Nehemiah Teams. Her main objective will be to backpack to different villages within the area and begin evangelistic Bible studies. Her team will also be prayer walking, distributing literature, teaching English, and other acts of service. She and her team will be staying with a non-Christian family that does not speak English. Please pray for Lauren and her team. Pray for boldness as they share the Gospel to a dark and lost community, effective communication with the people they contact, and safety as they travel and share about Christ. Home for the Summer? We have many college students who will be coming home for the summer. We have sent out letters to those who sent us addresses letting them know some of the things we have planned for the summer. If you, or your child, did not receive a package from us please send us their address (eastmontcollege@gmail.com). We want to make sure we contact everyone before the end of May. What is the Eastmont Prayer Ministry? Were a group of about 60 prayer warriors who serve in the prayer room Monday-Friday, 6am-6pm. When a prayer card is sent to us we pray every hour, every day specifically for that concern. If you are a member, family member, friend, or just someone that needs prayer, were here for you. Just complete a prayer card, fill in the information and we will pray for that person. ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS WITH CHURCH KEYS - If you unlock a door, especially the glass doors next to the prayer room, please remember to make sure it is locked when you leave. Thank you. 2012 Deacon Retreat June 22-23, 2012 at Shocco Springs Deacons and laymen of Eastmont desiring spiritual uplifting, singing, testimonies, preaching and fellowship with other men from Alabama should plan to attend. To make reservations or for more information, contact Dick Byers at 279-8335.
