Identify the factors that hinder career development and remedy For BEPZA

Executive Summary
The Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) is the official organ of the government to promote, attract and facilitate foreign investment in the Export Processing Zones. The primary objectives of an EPZ are to provide special areas where potential investors would find a congenial investment climate, free from cumbersome procedures. Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) ensures this institutional support to the potential business entrepreneurs. BEPZA has some responsibility in developing career of employees. The main responsibility is to build employee self-reliance and to help employees maintain their marketability through continual learning. Also provides support to the employees that include communicating clearly BEPZAs goals that better help the employees to develop personal plan to share in that future. In spite of all these opportunities career management in the BEPZA is not based on a detailedplaned-out structure that can ensure its member timely rises in the career rope & guarantee equal opportunity for promotion in the process of career planning. Finally, I will analyze the problem by collecting data from the sample, analyze the data and make recommendations in the report. There may be a number of limitations for which I would not able to represent it as I have described to do.

Background
BEPZA has some responsibility in developing career of employees. The main responsibility is to build employee self-reliance and to help employees maintain their marketability through continual learning. Also provides support to the employees that include communicating clearly BEPZAs goals that better help the employees to develop personal plan to share in that future. Employees of BEPZA are always having the opportunities for new, interesting and professionally challenging work experiences. BEPZA arranges both local and foreign trainings either by own fund or using fund sanctioned by World Bank under reimbursable project aid (RPA). In spite of all these opportunities career management in the BEPZA is not based on a detailed-planed-out structure that

can ensure its member timely rises in the career rope & guarantee equal opportunity for promotion in the process of career planning.

Objectives of the research


Broad objective: Understand the impact of organizational support on career development. Specific objectives:

Identify the key factors that hinder career development in BEPZA. Identify the impact of independent variable to dependent variable. And how this problem can be overcome.

Approach to the problem


The approach to the problem may be verified by talking with experts in the organization. Other persons, workers will be surveyed as well to find out the true cause of inappropriate career development in BEPZA. If there exists any lacking, it will be find out.

Research Design
Basically descriptive research design will use here. Survey method will use to collect the data. I will use convenience and Judgmental sampling technique. Sample size will be 30. The information is all related to career development. I will collect the numeric data and qualitative data about Fair compensation, Performance evaluation, Opportunity to learn, Opportunity to use skills, Politicization in case of transfer, Promotion policies, Feedback system of ACR, Treatment to all cadres and Implementation of recommendation. Data collection method will be personal interview and secondary data. I will talk with the experts from BEPZA; analyze the secondary data of them. In primary stage I will do some qualitative research.

Fieldwork/ Data collection


Data will be collected from BEPZA.

Data analysis
I will identify the independent variables which manipulate the career development. I will find if there is any need of moral boost for the workers as well as the managers for develop career properly. I will do regression analysis to find out the affect of independent variables over the dependent variable (Career development). After selecting the potential reasons I will construct hypothesis. Rejecting the null hypothesis significance of the test can be performed.

Reporting
After all the calculation, analysis and all I will present the findings in a regular way. We will try to present them through Pie chart, Histogram etc for readers convenience.

Cost and Time


For the short span of time we wont be able to do deep research on this topic though there is much room for it.

Recommendation
I will give some recommendation after analyzing all the data.
