INTRODUCTION ON KAIZEN
The importance of TQM has considerably increased on both a practical and theoretical level. It has been developing around a number of critical factors which vary from one other to another, may be grouped into two dimensions. These are the management system (leadership, planning, human resource, ect) or soft parts and the technical system (tools and techniques) or hard parts.(Tari Int.J. and Sabeter Vincente, 2004). Research TQM and Just-in-Time (JIT) find that there is evidence supporting the compatibility of the practices in these programs and that manufacturing performance is associated with the level of implementation of both socially- and technically-oriented practices of the three programs. The roots of TQM can be founded to the work of Drucker, Juran,Deming, Ishikawa, Crosby, Feigenbaum and a numerous of other people that have studied, practiced, and tried to improve the process of organizational management TQM is an organizational culture dedicated to training, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. Empirical

studies which have examined the relationship between TQM and organizational performance have investigated the impact of each dimension of TQM on performance separately. These studies have indicated that only a handful of the soft aspects of TQM (i.e., human factors like commitment, team work and so on) contribute to organizational performance. Our contention is that soft TQM actually plays a number of roles. One is to create an environment where seamless dimension and implementation of hard TQM can take place, and the other is to directly aspect organizations performance in the same way that traditional human resource management (HRM) practices can impact on an organization. The previous attempts to identify the relationships between elements of TQM are suggested. The first approach conceptualizes TQM as a limited set of technical tools (such as statistical process control and Pareto analysis) while the second approach views TQM as part of broader changes to human resource (HR) practices. Through examining computer, automotive, health care and banking industries in four countries, they found that the use of hard TQM tools tends to be more profound in companies that adopt strategies to increase stakeholder commitment and incorporate.

Objectives of the research:

A Total Quality oriented organization must have at least following principal objective. Organization should have many more additional specific objectives. 1. Customer focus, customer delight/satisfaction.

2. Continuous improvement as a culture of the organization, which must be the way of life. 3. 4. Focused, continuous and relentless cost reduction. Focused, continuous and relentless quality improvement.

5. To create an organization whereby everyone is working towards making their organization the best in its business, and to capitalize on the sense of achievement and working in a world-class organization.

Importance of kaizen:
Kaizen means "improvement". Kaizen strategy calls for never ending efforts for improvement involving everyone in the organization managers and workers alike.
Kaizen is a Japanese word which, in English, most closely translates to "Continuous Improvement." The concept of continuous improvement has been around for thousands of years in the Japanese culture. It was synthesized into the philosophy of Total Quality Management by Dr. W. Edwards Deming when he was given the task of revitalizing Japan's economy immediately following World War II. If you look at Japan's economy today you can see the effectiveness of this philosophy - they're a powerhouse. But how does the philosophy of kaizen apply to you? Easy. Take the words "Continuous Improvement" and stick a "Self" in the middle. "Continuous Self Improvement" is the single most important concept to apply to

your life if you hope to be successful. Plain and simple.

Literature Survey:TQM is only one of many approaches to getting work done and accomplishing goals. Several experiences have shown that by using a TQM approach, organizations can increase their capacity to do work, Increase the quality of work done and, at the same time, hold staffing levels and budgets at historical levels. A researcher in the quality literature cans experiences bafflement in the meaning of TQM and the differences between TQM and quality associated activities such as quality assurance, quality control and quality management. This confusion leads, in many cases, to the use of these expressions interchangeably. Therefore, it is very important to have a clear definition and understanding of each of these concepts.
