Meg Roe Journal Assignment April 5, 2012 PRINCIPLE 1: Knowledge of Subject Matter: The teacher understands the central

concepts, tools of inquiry, and structures of the discipline taught and creates learning experiences that make these aspects of subject matter meaningful for students. I intend on using an essay I wrote my Education PE class which talks about brain based learning and multiple intellegences. I also plan on creating a document on classroom behavior. Using these two items will explain how I believe education should be taught to students using a variety of information and will give the students the tools to learn through experience. It will also show what will be acceptable behavior in my classroom and what will not be tolerated. PRINCIPLE 2: Knowledge of Human Development and Learning: The teacher understands how students learn and develop, and provides opportunities that support their intellectual, social, and personal development. This principle will be covered under principle 1s PE Essay. I will also include my SIB which delves further into development. PRINCIPLE 3: Adapting Instruction for Individual Needs: The teacher understands how students differ in their approaches to learning and creates instructional opportunities that are adapted to students with diverse needs. I intend on using my essay from the developmental differences class as well as my philosophy of teaching (at least excerpts from both).
