The StreetCar RTV is at the heart of a whole new way to attract transit riders away from their cars.
A centrepiece worthy of any integrated Rapid Transit system, StreetCar successfully transfers the
key attributes and technologies of a rail service onto the road.
Sleek modern design Multiple wide doors Covered wheels State-of-the-art drivers workplace
Every aspect of the StreetCar RTV has been des|gned and eng|neered to set new standards |n
bus rap|d trans|t.
Taking a radically different and totally innovative approach to the design of the vehicle, StreetCar
RTV has challenged traditional concepts of bus and rail.
With its hybrid propulsion system, dramatic exterior styling, total rethinking of the drivers workplace
and its dedication to the passenger experience, StreetCar has redened the category from

Ins|de and out, StreetCar RTV |s br|st||ng w|th |nnovat|on that sets |t apart from
anyth|ng e|se on the road today.
Passenger comfort is a priority whatever the length of journey and the interior
environment of StreetCar RTV presents a new approach to urban transport.
Tinted windows reduce solar gain and a sophisticated climate control system eliminates
the need for opening windows. The combination of sealed windows and a highly
advanced air-conditioning, heating and ventilation system creates a controlled, draft-free
atmosphere for all.
The extensive use of noise absorption materials throughout the vehicle, combined with
high quality seating, provides a comfortable and relaxing environment. LCD screens
provide information to passengers throughout their journey and all the on-board
telematics have been carefully developed to ensure that different systems such as CCTV,
automatic vehicle location and passenger information can interact seamlessly.
The bright and welcoming interior ambience is enhanced by concealed lighting, backed
up by LED spotlights. Functional as well as attractive, the interior of the StreetCar RTV
has been designed to ensure regular cleaning can be carried out easily and effectively.
The driver is crucial to the safety and the overall travelling experience of passengers
and here StreetCar RTV has taken a completely new approach. The driver operates
the vehicle from within a dedicated compartment. This air-conditioned workplace is as
spacious as that on a light rail vehicle, with the offset and elevated driving position giving
an excellent eld of vision. All instruments and controls are conveniently positioned.
The steering wheel and drivers seat are both fully adjustable to suit all operators.
The drivers compartment also features separate climate control.

can carry up to 104 passengers, w|th the modu|ar

customers to spec|fy seat|ng |ayouts.
Three passenger entrances are standard - one behind
the front wheels, one located in the middle section and
one at the rear. The forward entrance, positioned behind
the front axle, facilitates access for all passengers.
A ramp for wheelchair users is available at the forward
door, with the entrance layout designed so that
priority seating and the wheelchair spaces are
immediately accessible.
The fare system requires no driver involvement, greatly
reducing dwell time at stops and signicantly
improving service times along the route. The advanced
ticket vending equipment can be customized to
manage a variety of fare transactions according to
customer choice.
On-board, StreetCar RTV passengers have a range of
options available to them with both conventional and
perimeter seats, as well as a lounge-style area at the
rear. A number of perches provide leaning support in
different parts of the vehicle, whilst open standing areas
can be utilized by people making short journeys.
StreetCar RTV | technology
StreetCar RTV |ntroduces a new |eve| of techno|ogy to rap|d trans|t operat|ons.
For a start, it is the rst series hybrid articulated vehicle in the U.S. The diesel Hybrid
Drive System has been developed in conjunction with ISE Corporation and Siemens
Energy & Automation and is based on a Cummins ISL engine.
Underneath the skin of StreetCar RTV is the Wright Groups patented Aluminique
structure, which combines strength, durability and practicality.
The new structural design allows the use of elegant deep windows. This adds to the
striking exterior appearance of StreetCar RTV, which is further enhanced by the use
of specially designed covered wheels.
StreetCar RTV provides a truly innovative, leading-edge Intelligent Transport System
(ITS) and Telematics platform, which can be integrated into the vehicle as a complete
package. Developed as a modular plug and play concept, the ITS can be specied
as a stand-alone system or in combination with other components tted according to
an individual customers specication.
The core of the ITS platform is an on-bus control unit, which uses a variety of
communication tools, including those typically found on networked computers and
satellite tracking devices. All components are positioned on easily removed cradles
for ease of maintenance.
