i know this has been asked before but i am a real newbee and cant follow how to do it. so my apologies . also apologies for posting here but i wanted it to be where zt108 owners were.

i have the above. its ok for what it does but the battery is making in a totally non portable epad. i do not use it as a phone. but i am only getting between 27 and 54 minutes from a fully charged battery. when i check where it went to it says 87% went on cell standby.i have turned off all the connections related to cel phones eg, 2g & 3g. i have downloaded a startup manager, turned off everything running and tried to stop the dailer from turning on, to no avail. i have tried turning dailer off via running processes, wont turn off. cant find anything else related to a phone anywhere.other forums have said to rename the phone file but i cant even find the phone file. some people on forums have reflashed and sorted it but i am to scared to do that without very clear plain english instructions. where does this cell standby originate. and how can i turn it off or uninstall it. it will never be used as a phone.

it is due to the telephony.apk installed. You need to root your phone with universal androot, run root explorer go into system/apps and delete it. that will take care of the cell standby issue. also do the tx power mod Step 1: Download UniversalAndroot This application is very easy to use and will root your zt-180 in 20 seconds. Download to a USB flash drive and install via file manager or install directly from your tablet by clicking on the link. Once installed open the app and click root. Mirror: http://www.filedropper.com/universalandroot161 Step 2: Download SuperUser (There is no need to download this file anymore as it s installed as part of UniversalAndroot). This application gives a program permission to run root functions. There is no need to open the app once it s installed. Step 3: Download RootExplorer This is the ultimate file manager giving you complete read/write access to Android s file system. Install and then run. Upon opening RootExplorer you will get a superuser popup tick the Remember box and then click on Allo . Mirror: http://www.filedropper.com/rootexplorerv281 Step 4: Once RootExplorer is open, navigate to /etc/Wireless/RT2870/ and you should see a file called RT2870STA.dat S ep 5: Above that file, select the grey button that says Mount R/W. It should now say Mount R/O Step 6: Press down on file RT2870STA.dat until you get the menu popup. Now select Open in Te t Editor down the bottom in that list of options Step 7: On the 12th line down where it says T Po er=100, change the value of 100 to 20. Step 8: Now click on the Home button and then click Yes to save changes.

I cant open root explorer... it says : root explorer has not yet managed to obtain root access. Because of issues with superuser ..... restart the app.." i restarted, but there is no use.

It's no sense upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2, coz upgrade version is shows android 2.2, not real android 2.2. and the hot selling is android 2.3 now. 2.3 support Flash 10.3, and most apps
