CONFIGWIZ-PLUS
QEIs ConfigWiz-Plus program provides an interactive, Windows based, drag & drop interface to configure all of QEIs Family of Substation & Feeder Automation Products. All QEIs Sentinel-21 processors use a common microprocessor, software operating system, and set of software applications. All Sentinel-21 processors have the ability to concentrate data from multiple Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) and discreet I/O points (status, accumulators, analog, controls) into a secure programmable RTU & IED gateway communicating with one or more Master Stations.

ConfigWiz-Plus editors configure communication protocols and point lists for each Master Station (Server) and each IED (Client). And ConfigWiz-Plus tools selectively map these Client and Server data points to each other, through the communication switching fabric that is the core of the Sentinel21 processors.

Import IED point lists and point descriptions maintained in Excel spreadsheet files.
IED point lists and point descriptions can be maintained in Excel spread sheets, which can be created from data downloaded from IED vendor websites, and ConfigWiz-Plus utilities allow you to import these Excel files directly in to the Sentinel-21 database. Any IED client created in ConfigWiz-Plus can be saved to an IED library on your laptop computer. These pre-configured IED clients are then available for installation in any other Sentinel-21 processor, saving time and reducing errors. QEIs Auto-Client Configurator uploads configuration data and point descriptions directly from SEL Relays that support SELs FastMeter protocol. Auto-Client even creates logical names for data that is contained in tables in the SEL Relays. ConfigWiz-Plus files from Sentinel-21 processors can be directly imported into a QEI TDMSPlus Master Station database, cutting database configuration time, eliminating human error, and significantly easing the task of adding new substations and IEDs to your SCADA system.

QEIs Programmable Logic Communication & Control (PLCC) software provides a utility engineer with a powerful tool to efficiently manage the large and growing amount of data now available at SCADA remote sites. QEIs PLCC software allows utility engineers to enhance the SCADA systems performance through intelligent processing of data within the QEI Central Processor: Local calculations eliminate communication delays making realtime data calculation possible. The limited communication bandwidth between the Master Station and the Substations can be preserved by intelligent filtering of data that is required at the Master Station and data that can remain local to the Substation. Locally executed control algorithms respond more quickly and will execute automatic local control of field equipment even during a failure of the Master to Substation communication link.
PLCC
The QEI Central Processor Client/Server structured software provides a manageable communication structure between the remote field equipment and multiple Master Stations. Data from local I/O panels and from Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), comprise the Client database. Multiple Server databases comprise the data points that have been mapped for transfer to and from a Master Station served by the central processor through a selected network or serial communication port and protocol. PLCC consists of three user-defined elements: A PLCC Client that contains points from all previously defined points from IEDs, Local I/O, and points specifically for PLCC. A PLCC Server, which contains all the points in the PLCC Client, which can be selectively mapped to RTU/Gateway Server(s). A PLCC program, which uses the PLCC Client & Server points to perform calculations and control algorithms.
The PLCC database is created and managed on a Laptop PC using a set of Windows menus, and an Excel spreadsheet editor that reads, views, and edits the calculation and control logic. The ConfigWiz software compiles the completed PLCC program into executable code that is downloaded onto the Central Processor Panel.

2.1
The PLCC program has access to all data points in all IED Clients and the local I/O Client in the Central Processor database. These data points are made available to the PLCC user in the form of a Point Key List. The Point Key List lists all Client data points and allows the user to define custom IED Names and Point Names to each data point. Each Sentinel-21 central processor contains only one PLCC Client, which the user sizes to accommodate all additional points that will be created for PLCC calculations for use as constants, calculated data points, or intermediary values. A PLCC Server is automatically created with the PLCC Client and all points in the PLCC Client are mapped to the PLCC Server. Editors allow the user to selectively map points in the PLCC Server to the Server point list. Because PLCC interacts only with other Clients or Servers, it is not directly associated with serial data ports connected to the Central Processor.
2.2
PLCC editing sessions utilize Excel spread sheets as an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) to define, view, edit, and debug the calculation and control algorithms defined to execute in the Sentinel-21 central processors. PLCC provides three types of spread sheet views for this interface: The Calculation Spread Sheet displays the user-defined calculations and provides an editing tool for defining the calculations that will be executed sequentially by the Sentinel-21Central Processor at a frequency specified by the user. Reading the calculations is facilitated by a View Names viewing mode which inserts user-defined names for each point in place of the point numbers. And A Verify sheet provides error information for common errors in the Calculations sheet. Point Key List Spread Sheets display all of the Analog, Status, Accumulator, Set Point, and Control data points from a Sentinel-21 central processors IED and local I/O panel Clients that are available for use in PLCC calculations. These lists provide for entry of user-defined names for each data point. A Functions Spread Sheet displays the calculation functions (with descriptive information) that are available for use in defining PLCC calculations. And a Functions by Category sheet, displays all of the functions separated into categories.
