Demand for Montessori schools creates entrepreneurs Meet Mayur Marda, , who gave up a successful corporate career to set

Elements Educare Private Limited, which has grown to become one of the leading Montessori preschools in Bangalore. He is a graduate of Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow of 2005 batch. So what is that makes MBA graduates from premier managements institutes become an entrepreneur in the underthe-radar segment of child education of the education sector ?

The answer lies in the surge in the demand for Montessori schools, which includes Montessori houses for children and conventional schools incorporating the Montessori way of learning at pre-school levels. Many are attributing the awareness to the play-way method followed by these schools. Increase in demand is due to the systems innovative approach. Children are not stressed about the curriculum. They enjoy their school hours as they are given a free hand. Moreover, when both parents are working, there is a tendency to push children out of home as early as possible. Here Montessori gains an upper hand, as children are taken in at a much younger age. An alternative method of learning which provides holistic development to a child is another factor making more parents opt

for it. Despite Montessori education being expensive, it still remains the favourite. There has been a rise in the number of Montessori schools. According to the Indian Montessori Centre (IMC), there are 34 recognized Montessori schools in Bangalore today compared to 16 in 2006. There has been a drastic increase in the number of Montessori houses and schools. Compared to 6-10 Montessori schools few years ago, the city today has about 200 such institutions. The number of training courses has also increased. Another fact that indicates a change in trend is a boost in the number of individuals being trained at IMC. Currently, we are training 250 people in various Montessori courses, which was only 75 a couple of years ago, said Anantha Padmanabha, director, IMC. Consequently, many people who lost their jobs much later after the recession ended in June 2009 have decided not to seek jobs. They have become entrepreneurs or self-employed.

The slow economy has pushed more people to start their own businesses

As labor markets adjust to economic downturn, self-employment is an increasingly popular option for the jobless. Before the recession, nearly 1 in 3 American workers was working for herself. Now, layoffs and the slow economy have pushed even more people to start their own businesses as writers, artists, electricians, shopkeepers, software programmers, and so on. They have no boss to please, no benefits (except what they buy for themselves), and no income if clients dont pay. However very few start-ups achieve success. Even in economic boom times, some 40 percent of the jobs created by start-up firms were gone five years later because those firms had disappeared, according to researchers at the University of Maryland and the US Census Bureau. Those striking out on their own must create work for themselves and manage the business dimension of their enterprise if they want to thrive. If you dont take on the responsibilities of being a business manager, then sooner or later youre going to have difficulties. Some reluctant self-employed people are having a hard time. Starting a business can be challenging. Some entrepreneurs have made the process easier by buying a franchise business. But they still have challenges. Theres a steep learning curve maybe many learning curves in making the transition from employee to entrepreneur. Its a completely different lifestyle, often requiring longer hours. A franchise that has been around for a while already has name recognition. If the corporation owning the franchise is well-run, it will provide support and assistance to franchisees. Posted on July 20, 2011 by Advisor SEO (search engine optimization) training should be offered to anyone who is even remotely attached with developing and maintaining site of a company. Managers from different levels and all employees associated with the site should have fundamental knowledge about SEO. Failure to impart such training may lead to serious consequences like blown schedules, wasted time and expenses ultimately leading to reduced search traffic. Let us study two simple cases to find out the importance of SEO training in online business. Case Study I A company had an existing website. It was decided by the top management to move to a new domain. It was decided that the company would take steps for preserving the existing flow of search traffic. They built the site with a content management system (CMS) that was selected by management. Then they hired a SEO service provider to optimize the site. The problem began when it was found that the CMS was a disaster from SEO perspective. It did not allow things like placement of title tags on each page. The problems were fixed after spending thousands of dollars and delaying the launch by six months. Case Study II Another company planned to reposition or rebuild their brand image. As a part of this corporate decision they decided to redesign their existing website. It was decided that to impress target visitors an all Flash site would be created. Accordingly, a site having stunning looks and user-experience was crafted. However, search engine bots were not able to find or index the site. The in-house SEO working on the site failed to convince top level management about such disastrous consequence of

developing an all Flash site. Search traffic plummeted and the project failed to accomplish its mission. Identifying the problems A company that is growing at a fast pace requires input from several groups to arrive at a decision. Valuable inputs come from sales, advertisement, development and executives at management level. Any of these groups can make a decision or do something that can be harmful from SEO perspective. Success in SEO services requires all these groups working in the same rhythm
