RUBAROO - kids

S O C I A L W E L F A R E A S S O C I AT I O N O F N E O S O C I A L I T E S ( S W A N S ) SWANS is a registered Volunteers Association of students and professionals from different institutes and corporate, trying to inculcate a sense of social responsibility, among the youth of our country, through selfless social service. Spread in 3 cities: Bhopal, Mumbai and Delhi, SWANS is a fast growing network of socially inclined students and professionals, across the country. The USP of SWANS is that, it demonstrates that a lot of social good can be done, without money. Saying so, Swans (members) share their knowledge and skills in an organized manner, with those who have not got opportunities to acquire the same (the underprivileged), and give them wider choices in life. SWANS recognizes the contribution of its members, by awarding them Social Credits. Education is the foundation of the country and every child has a right to quality education. Yet a huge disparity exists between a rich child and a poor child. The recent Right to Education Act has opened up the doors of privileged schools to underprivileged children around the country, with 25% reservation for them. But the social barrier between the existing children, and the underprivileged children will always be a concern during implementation of the reservation. It has been observed that children from affluent families, going to privileged schools, do not know, what their counterparts in slums, going to Govt. schools are like. They see these children as maids, vehicle repair and cleaning guys, tea servers, etc. But little do they know that these children form an indispensable segment of society, on which the affluent section of our society depends heavily. In order to bridge this gap, and imbibe social sensitivity among privileged children, SWANS has decided to organize a joint camp for kids of prominent schools and children from slums and orphanages.
Address: HIG-135, E-7, Arera Colony, Bhopal, MP.

Called RUBAROO, the 2-day residential camp on 16th & 17th of April, will sensitize the privileged children and give them an opportunity to understand the underprivileged children, while giving the underprivileged children inspiration and confidence. The activities in the camp will engage all participants equally and will be closely monitored by Psychologists to measure its impact. 40 participants from prominent schools and 40 participant from slums and orphanages will be part of the camp. The results of the camp will be shared with all schools, so that they can replicate the same in their school to create a conducive and welcoming atmosphere for the underprivileged children they admit.

How can you help?
